Betfair trading | An easy horse racing trade that's stacked in your favour

If you want to be a successful Betfair trader you need to have many different aspects to your trading.

One of the most important is having a decent Betfair trading plan and a Betfair trading strategy to plug into it. Note that the two are very different things. A plan gives you an idea of what you are looking for and what you will do. A trading strategy is how you will do it.

In this video, we review and discuss a Betfair trading strategy that you may have seen. But we add additional context and discussion to it and then show it to you in action.

This particular Betfair trading strategy gives you a good opening set up position by taking advantage of a key point within the market.

  1. Great video. I thought I had seen this one but I hadn't. Seems like I very sound strategy and going give it ago when the opportunity presente itself 🙂 😃

  2. As someone who is 'champing at the bit' and gagging for his self-imposed break with Betfair to end in July, I find videos like this particularly interesting. Before I put on the brakes 12 months ago, I didn't really understand stuff like this, but now I do, I feel more confident that when I resume my trading career, then I'll at least lose less money! LOL

Seriously, as a comparative novice, I think the major problem that we novices face, is that we – often by necessity – use really small stakes but then; when we see Peter making such large returns using bigger stakes, feel tempted to 'jump in with the big boys' – and thats where we get screwed!

My motto going forward? Stake small, win small – and LEARN! 🙂

  3. biggest problem with befair is it doesn't match your bet if u forget to cancel it then it matches latter u can have multiple bets on 1 horse

  4. Hi Peter, thanks for the great tip on trading. I noticed also that you said that you missed the beginning of the entry point. But isn't the increment beginning 4.1- 6?

  5. I am new to all of this and watched a lot of the academy vids and trading in training mode, it all making sense to me now.. thanks Peter a very useful vid.

  6. Not to be recommend 60 seconds before the off at Galway or insert your other (interesting betting patterns) favourite track name …

  7. At last, the puzzle is complete ! Thank you so much for this, there was definitely a light switched on, inside my head. Your videos here are a goldmine. I promise to go back and watch them all.

  8. Something I've seen a lot (I primarily do matched betting) is say when the 2nd favourite odds shorten, the favourites odds lengthen, and vice versa.

  9. Been going through your free Academy tutorials. Very informative. I saw an example like this in there. I'm slowly getting the grasp of it.

  10. Hi Peter. What advice do you have for someone who was profiting quite well for a newbie with drifter automations and since Friday just seems to not be able to hit like they have been doing for the past month. Asking for a friend….lol.

  11. Always helpful hints over the years of watching your videos Peter, this one is particularly useful but newbie traders need to be made aware in that final 120 seconds+delay in loading the stalls/horse being re-shod or monty roberts blanket being introduced to a nervy 2nd/3rd fav the price on the fav WILL plummet.
P.s you need a new razor blade, you're sporting what i call raspberry chin 🙂

  12. Brilliant. This man is a must see as in video content.Whilst he may keep things close to his chest regarding precise strategies as i see it that is.The content he does give,is true, honest and above board and very genuine indeed. You have to remember he has been in the game a long long time.To be fair i use Bet Angel and would recommend it to everyone. If you listen you will reap rewards

  13. I tend to do the second part of this trade first Peter. I anticipate the drift and place the £50 stakes scattered at various prices 5 and above. It brushes through my stakes then returns to 4. Unless crazy drift – in a Maiden etc. I just can't lay first. It's psychological with me.

  14. Thankyou Peter . throughout all your video's i have collected many little "gems" , however after watching this video i have found the "Goldmine".
You sir are my Messiah .

  15. Just one other comment, is there any chance you could make a video on how to calculate the half life of a system. By half life I mean how would you know if your system is in decay? Apart from obvious a reducing balance! Have you done any such calculation? In my case I tweak the programme constantly so I’m not measuring the same system!

  16. Why do you say it's unlikely to go back down to 3.3 when anything can happen? Is that your experience kicking in over your years of trading and would this be typical of other markets?

  17. These videos are so good, certainly the last few months, I’m on the verge of buying the mug merchandise, so peter keeps making these quality videos!

  18. Interesting video as usual.
Can I ask you what % of trades you get right ie prices move in your favour. How much tolerance have you for exposure if your position goes into the red?
    Thanks for your help.
