So! Touhou Contra!

Let it be known that I have never played any of the Contra series before, but I did play this game once several years ago on a random stream. Kib I don’t believe had played this before we started, so take that as you will. He’s usually better than me at this sort of game though, since I really didn’t play anything like this when I was younger.

Remi and Flandre have rather different playstyles, and honestly one is proooobably faster than the other if you’re knowledgable about the game. Remi is a bit slower and has lower firepower, but has better jumping and homing abilities. Flandre is all about the power – she can’t rapid-fire like Remi can, but she has a Charge Shot to compensate. Platforming is trickier with her due to her smaller jump, so later stages can be more taxing on her.

This game is really short, BUT playing it on Normal does not give you the full ending. So we’ll be blindly rushing into Lunatic next time round! I dunno if using the 30 Lives code will be ok or not, but we will be using it anyhow now that it has been discovered since it should help keep things flowing better. Either way this ought to be fun, so hopefully you enjoy it next time too!
