  1. In the UK, you swab the back of your throat fist and then up your nose with the same swab. It always takes me forever because my gag reflex kicks in.

  2. Ha! Thanks for making this fun you guys! I gotta go get one for a sleep study and I've been a bit anxious about the poke your brain thing. Although I think mine will be the deep nose swap where THEY do it for me lol! Not fun but necessary. I enjoy the channel and keep up the great work!

  3. Told by a nurse it makes it much easier to close eyes, leave mouth open and breath. Some tense up with mouth shut and forget to breath.

  4. I did the full sinus test before i had a c-section this year. It was worse than the actual c-section pain (although I guess i had painkillers for that…) – I feel like i got sick following it as well – for several days, I had sinus drainage. Be happy you only had the do-it-to yourself version!

  5. My mom got tested since she was coughing. They lost her test and couldn't find it so she got an anti body, they ended up finding the test and they were both negative. She ended up having bronchitis, but she had to stay home from work for ever not getting paid because they lost her test.

  6. Wow, 13 days is pretty bad. We did a drive-through in Charlotte, NC, and my wife got her results in about 48 hours. About 8 hours later, I still hadn't gotten anything on my phone, so I just went to the website and checked, and my results were ready. About 5 hours later it pushed to my phone. So, what I learned is, the push to the phone is nice, but at least here in Charlotte, your results may be ready for a while before the push gets sent.

  7. I took the long swab touching my brain and it took them one month to get me the results. I thought, well, if I was positive they would have gotten right back to me…nope, I was positive! I was fortunate to only have had a fever for a couple days, coughing and sneezing. That was all back in March in NJ.

  8. Thank you for sharing this… I am in NY and am high risk working from home and have not been able to get tested… but have been super curious on how that looks… been suck inside since March … covid go away

  9. Hello Ali you guys are so lucky that you could do it their own self I had to go into a doctor's office and they do it for you and I had to do it four times the last one heard it like he'll be swapped it they let it sit for a few minutes and then they rotated it out I came back positive three times and I came back negative. I was sick for two weeks end of June and the whole rest of July so please let everybody know that they all should wear a mask every time when they're out because this covid-19 is for real ain't no joke

  10. Pretty insane how the testing process is so inconsistent through the nation. No wonder there are people who are getting multiple tests with mixed results.

  11. My swab test result have taken 8, 14, and 5 days. Not terribly useful. I also did a blood test that had results in 15 min.

  12. This is making my eyes water so much…..and I'm only 3 minutes in. I'm sure I'll finish eventually…..my eyes will still be watering 😂

  13. In Texas, I went and got the rapid test done. Which was the up the nose that they do. Unfortunately, the first test came back inconclusive, so they had to come back in and give me it again. It was horrible. But all came back negative, so that was good.

  14. The dog mask is super cool. And just like three seconds after I thought that, Ali points it out and says it's "super cool".

  15. I had Covid on like 5 out of 10 – a week of high fever, two days of scary shortness of breath, three weeks of symptoms overall and risidual respiratory problems I had to correct with breathing gymnastics afterwards. Swabs (I had 4 in total) are such a negligible discomfort in comparison.

  16. Good luck on it and thanks for sharing !
One i saw in LA was a self-mouth swab (like for DNA)
Unfortunately the test method has significant shortcoming (cannot test next day after infection, need to wait 7 days to be tested and several more days to get results)

  17. Great video, glad you documented it. I was watching an interview with Bill Gates where he said the fact that it is taking so long to get results is ridiculous and misses the point of testing in the first place. It should be less than 72 hour tops. America is paying for worse results. Sucks.

  18. I was so terrified watching this. This was brave. I loved both of your masks! Of course, I recognized Ali's logo, but I got to thinking – what is the story behind that logo? Is that a yellow doughnut on a comic explosion?

  19. I had no choice here in NC. I got the "Long Stick Brain Tickler Nose Swab" & a positive result in 2 days. I only had a fever for a day & a half.

  20. I've been donating platelets at Red Cross every week, and you get covid antibody test results in the app a few days later. Help burn/cancer patients, and make sure you're not an asymptomatic carrier, win-win!

  21. I had the medium test only the nurse had to do it for me. Took almost two weeks to get my negative results. I had to quarantine during that time too which was not much fun.
