I breakdown my new strategy for how much CASH I will be holding in my Wealthsimple portfolio going forward from here. This strategy is based off the stock market cycle. In the past, I have made the mistake of over-investing and getting caught red handed without cash during stock market corrections/crashes. As investors, we still have lots to learn about properly proportioning our portfolios between equity and cash. If we can master this and hold back our trigger fingers from buying stocks, we can achieve our long term goal of financial independence quicker.
