2021 Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo Review in Malaysia, The FASTEST Japanese Family SUV!! | WapCar

We revisited the Mazda CX-5 to see why it’s still such a popular choice among buyers looking for a family SUV.

Practicality and space are not the CX-5’s strongest suit but people are still drawn towards its premium interior and quiet cabin. However, if you throw in this 2.5 Turbo engine, the CX-5 becomes irresistible.

The 2.5 Turbo is perhaps the smoothest turbocharged 4-cylinder engine we’ve experienced and it gives the CX-5 the engine performance to match its brilliant handling prowess.

  1. Nothing is wtong with cx5, even the 22 model looks more beautiful.. but without engine option for hybrid like other competitor, makes cx 5 fuel consumption higher, specially in city usage… i know in combi between city snd suburb route cx 5 fuel consumption still consider ok… but still if mazda makes 2.0L hybrid, makes consumer have more option

  2. the 2.5 doesnt leave a smile on my face….ours isn't the turbo :'( here in the Philippines we don't have the turbo trim

  3. Hi, the cx5 supplied here in the Philippines is from Malaysia. just wanted to ask if you know why we arent supplied the turbo model? thanks!

  4. You paid so much than X70 yet you don't get simple power tail gate & the interior looks damn old fashioned. Just look at the gear knop looks like proton iswara…why can't Mazda improve to the standard of other competitor because it's lagging some of safety features. Not value for money.🥵

  5. I'm about to buy a SUV and really hesitating between the CX-5 Turbo and the Tiguan 2.0 R-Line (220 HP / 350 Nm) – What would be your pick? 😀 I am more of a sporty / assertive driver

  6. Given its suite of technology (or lack thereof), it's simply not futureproof. Buying this particular model at this time could be a mistake.

  7. I have drove nothing but Japanese cars all my life and now that I have a German quality car I never looked back. But if I ever sometime go back to Japanese cars, a Mazda is the brand car I would get….

  8. It"s not that cx5 doesn't have an adaptive cruise control. Cx5 come with mrcc on most of the regions EXCEPT when it comes to Malaysia, Bermaz decided to go without it.

  9. Great video from WapCar as always.. with no annoying music and trying-too-hard "fancy editing" and cuts like a more well-known car channel. This is how you keep your viewers engaged while feeding them useful information. Great job, Adrian

  10. If Bermaz does NOT ISSUE the CX-8 in the 2.5 turbo with BESPOKE SEVEN SEATS (opposed to the captain-seated 2nd row), sorry lah no buy for me

  11. Nice review, as always! I've got a cx5 2.2 diesel with awd. How would you compare it vs the 2.5 turbo petrol in terms of engine performance?

  12. Bermaz needs to update this to reflect that in other markets. They have the new larger 10.25” infotainment system with the new Mazda connect. Also, why not upgrade the 6 speaker system to the Bose system, throw in the radar cruise control and perhaps the sunroof. It’s already 180k so they have no excuse.

Also, in other markets, their rims are more classy looking too which looks larger albeit it being the same size. I don’t understand why we’re being short changed here in Malaysia. Just look at the Thailand spec CX-5. Malaysia literally builds that and they get everything.
