2023 Topps Flagship Design Issue RESOLVED! FIRST LOOK!

In this #short, I go over some of the changes Topps made in their 2023 flagship design since the inital preview in September 2022. The main change fixes one of the design’s biggest flaws!

Last September, Topps released a sneak peek of their 2023 Flagship design, but one major design flaw caught everyone’s attention – the team name was obscured by the player’s portrait.

Fans were left wondering why the team name was covered up and why it only said “More Orioles.”

Seems like Topps listened to the feedback and made some significant updates to the design.

The team name now has a more condensed font, making it much more readable, even for longer team names like the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Topps also reduced the size of the team logo and shifted the name plate to the left, I assume to allow for longer player names.

They also shared the first look at a base parallel with a cut off gold border and the star’s filled in with gold, which I think is a nice way to make a variation for the parallels.

With more of the design being revealed, what do you think of this year’s Topps Flagship design?
