  1. Doll hairs is new currency unit in Akihabara. Aha.. Cowboy Bebop seems to have its own game for PS2! Japanese original game name exciting versus Here comes the pain (for example, English tranlation for wrestling game titles) is interesting culture transformation.

  2. My guess on why ADK Tamashii at 4:56 is so expensive, a certain little game on it that is expensive in all formats, Twinkle Star Sprites.

I've got all 4 of those Japanese Taito Memories compilations, 100 mostly great games over 4 volumes, 25 games each pack. They go nice with both Taito Legends PS2 we got in the US, look nice next to each other, as well as the PSP Taito Memories/Legends Pocket for the PSP. Yup, got them all years ago. SVC Chaos PS2 is one I had a hard time getting. Originally bought it off Ebay, got sent Namco X Capcom by mistake and had send it back, got a refund. Same seller a year later had it again, bought it from him again, thankfully, second time was the charm, finally had the Japanese version.

The SNK stuff I managed to snag as well before they get expensive, or too expensive, stuff like both Fatal Fury Battle Archives, the World Heroes Anthology, the Art of Fighting one, the Metal Slug one, all the 2D KoF's (even 94 Rebout, which was a bitch to wait on a US seller to have one for a good price), Mark of the Wolves, and the Last Blade one as well. The Sunsfot one you see early in the video, while cheap enough in Japanese shops, goes for well over $100 on Ebay for some stupid reason. All it has is 2 games, Galaxy Fight and Waku Waku 7, yet resellers think it is made of gold or something.

  3. I have the English version of Grimgrimoire. Fun game once you get the hang of it. I have Dragon Ques 8 as well. Both are fun games, but it's a shame both didn't come with the original Japanese with English subs for their NA releases. Not that the English dubs of either are bad. Both are very decent. I just wish we had the option of Japanese audio as well.

  4. Thanks for another comfy video, Jim. The PS2 got an insane amount of good stuff for it, impossible to cram everything into one trip. I'd love if you could focus more on other genres like RPGs and action games the next time you go on a PS2 hunt. Oh, and also the hardware section with accessories and controllers (so many color variations out there).

  5. great video, I would have to say my favorite game would have to be the Sumo wrestling game 🎮 😀 👍, but I like them all…

  6. Gonna save this video for when I make a list of games for japan. Would a printed paper with the Japanese names of the games suffice to have a worker help me find what I want at a book off? Or do I have to find them my self?

  7. always love watching these, definitely gives me some inspiration for my next JPS2 pickup! man I'd love to own the taito memories games but they're ridiculously expensive! (at least the ones I came across on amazon) or maybe one of those SNK fighting game ports!

  8. Have you been to the amiami store or webstore Jim? Sometimes they have some good anime licensed collectors edition games for cheap there

  9. will be in Japan for a month starting next week ! Looking forward to do some retro hunt myself. Good to know the Tokyo prices thx to your video before starting the chase for "deals".

  10. not game related. but where do you like to eat if youre ever in akihabara? im sure youve probably been to Carls Jr or Burger King. I go to Carls Jr often since its the easiest location to get to in Tokyo
