Another day, another cup of coffee, another stack of games, same old couch. Today, we take a look at half a dozen Famicom games that I think are well worth having in any respectable retro game collection. 100% Japanese 8-bit goodness.

  1. Yo Wazzup Jimmy long time no see my good friend Kid Shoryuken I love famicom and nes games like those ones which are mighty final fight and versus excitebike I actually have a digital downloads of v.s. excitebike and mighty final fight NES both of them on my black 32 GB Deluxe Model Wii U then I got from Amazon online a few months ago I used it for the Wii U eshop virtual console digital download games and I love playing it every single day and night from time to time up until about midnight. GG's 👍😎😁🎮🏆

  2. Great video! I enjoyed playing Kid Dracula on the Castlevenia Collection. I remember Street Fighter 2010 getting a bad rap back in the day. It was a cheap game, picked it up and loved it.

  3. One last thing, I would like to play, a video game, every so often, make four fall jokes, it doesn't have to be scary, just as long, Thursday make, meta and forthal jokes.

  4. I will love to play something that's basically, a mashup between, Viewtiful Joe , Luigi's Mansion and Castlevania. I will also like to play a game, that's basically, Castlevania mashed up with Ōkami, that has Hiroyuki Takei's art style or with Rumiko Takahashi's art style.

  5. Jim playing Famicom games are awesome to see. So many Japanese titles that I never heard before are receiving my attention for me to purchase on my own. Awesome as always bro. 8^)

    Anthony..

  6. Watching the Ghostbusters segment made me think that it’s cool that a lot of Japanese-made games have a team aspect to the play style. Even fighting games have teams. Then you think of a US game like Mortal Kombat where you are the strongest, have to beat everyone else, and become emperor of the universe hahaha

  7. some cool thematic pickups, for sure. I did play a ROM of crisis force, definitely a different shmup than you usually see out of konami! also I think their primarily vertically-scrolling shmup would be the twinbee series? may have to hunt down the cart version at some point!

  8. I wish the NES had the cart and box designs the Famicom had. So small and sleek. But everything had to be bold, bulky, and big in the US in the 80s. For no reason whatsoever.

  9. If any cheapskates out there want a Mighty Final Fight cart, Capcom Mini Mix (GBA) is usually less than $20 loose. Also includes NES Strider and Bionic Commando.

  10. Well well well, You got some awesome pickups there jim! GhostBusters 2 and Crisis Force are on my wanted list.

  11. Jim you're looking really quite healthy. Must be all that Japanese food you're eating, especially sushi. If your plan was to live over 100+ years, you went to the right country. lol

  12. Famicom is another cheap one to collect for. The $50+ games are worth it but there are still some dirt cheap ones worth playing too.
I only have like. 12 of them though and no flash carts

I do have some Japanese Vania and Wanpaku grafitti got my Halloweeb games on tap.

  13. Love Kid Dracula. New Ghostbusters 2 is a blast. I'll never understand why it didn't get a US release on the NES, but the Game Boy version did, and it's amazing and actually more polished than the console version. Would love to have Crisis Force in my collection, but it tends to be stupid expensive, definitely a beautiful game, though. Mighty Final Fight is absolutely badass.

  14. Street Fighter 2010 is actually one of very few AVGN said he liked in the end, despite the difficulty. I´d love to have it myself, Mighty Final Fight too. Kunio Street Basket is one of those glass case -only games that´s ridiculously expensive… at least it´s re-released in the Kunio & Double Dragon Brawler Collection.

  15. I do not collect for Famicom , my focus is mainly Super famicom games . But since im a Rockman fan i wouldn’t mind having those famicom games cib’s along with Rockman board .
