As I was about to film some live trading for my Betfair trading video this week, the Betfair website crashed. So I used this opportunity to teach Betfair traders an important lesson in how to protect their money, when they are unable to trade on Betfair.

The interface on the others is a little different to Betfair. I notice this on the correct score particularly. Always a good idea to do the occasional trade on these sites for practice.

Didn't have any issues on Saturday but it did go down for a couple of Hrs on Sunday afternoon. Luckily I didn't have any bets on at the time, would not have been happy if I had. Been really good for this year so far, this is the first outage that has affected me in a long time. Lets hope it doesn't become a habit again.

Do Betfair void all trades when the site goes down? I noticed (when it came back on yesterday) every game that was in-play during the crash was suspended for the remainder of play; this made me assume that they must have voided all open trades.
The old problem with Betfair crashes (remember when they gave you free bets for this years ago) – all liquidity used to be lost and pricing goes sketchy with huge spreads at Daq, MBk and Smarkets as they relied on Betfair to guide their markets – has this changed now?
Why not give advice about how you would deal with an open position on Betfair when moving to another exchange. What would you do on the other exchange to limit your losses in this instance
