Betfair "Socks" football

Mindseye producer Jonny Kight approached internationally acclaimed choreographer Supple Nam once again on an ambitious fun idea of socks dancing as characters. With the treatment by their new director Sye Allen, it was full of personality that needed to be brought to life.

Sye (Director), Jonny (Producer) and Supple discussed the treatment and Sye’s idea to get Supple more involved and help make the selection from the casting tapes. The selection process prioritised personality and skill to translate a story through feet and dance and acting (a fun script for many talents to get their feet into LOL).

From the recce Supple and Sye constructed a well thought plan to have Supple know exactly what was needed to do. The approach was to know exactly what was needed for every shot, in the areas of storytelling, acting and dancing.

Supple had a few ideas that he wanted to test out on the confirmed talent once at rehearsal. Supple taught the choreography and experimented with steps and different types of approaches and execution, trying it on camera to see what would translate best to film. With only half a day to rehearse and sharing his time with the wardrobe department, Supple moved fast. In line with Covid regulations Supple also worked with a back up hero.

Director Sye joined via zoom, working remotely with Supple and the dancers in the studio. They both selected the best routine with various options for execution.

With a two day shoot schedule Supple and Sye worked out all the shots to the sec from the rehearsal and recce.

All ran smoothly with vibrant energy and personality from the cast, which was needed for an amazing video. Supple kept the energy focussed and positive, as the shooting schedule was very full.
