You may think you need a lot of knowledge about racing to be able to find a front runner with which to put in a back to lay, or something similar. But it’s not that difficult if you use one of the many resources out there to find horses that have a particular running style.
I knew very little about from in horse racing when I started traded and have learnt more as time has moved on. But in-running there are definite characteristics you can pick up on.
The course, distance, type of race and how the race is likely to be run are all factors in how the odds are likely to move.

I just find clicking on any horse on the betfair interface lets watch each horses previous 5 or 6 races in a drop down menu, from these videos you can see if a horse is a front or mid runner or a back marker, it also tells you when the horse has run and if it has won at that distance.
