Betfair trading | How to bag a profit when a betting market goes mad!

Back in 2010, the DOW Jones index underwent a flash crash.

$1t was lost in just 36 minutes and everybody wondered what had happened.

I say everybody, some people waited for the panic to end and bought the bottom of the market and made a fortune in profit.

Curiously, this same year, a thread started on the Bet Angel forum. The infamous ‘fat finger’ thread.

This thread flags up and examines odd situations that occur in the market and the discussion tends to centre on what we just saw and why we think it occurred.

All the Bet Angel forum members have chipped in on this thread over a large number of years and contributed, so feel free to check it out: –

Also, check out the automation area of the forum where you can find the fat finger automation: –

Enjoy!

  1. Since I published this video, in three days, this has happened two out of three days for good amounts. This is probably the closest thing I've ever published to a slam dunk sure thing.

  2. On the graph at 5:10, with it being such good value to lay at 5 would it not be a good idea to just let the bet run or do you trade out when it goes higher or do you use both strategies at the same time?

  3. Didn't expect to find any opportunities so soon after watching this video but some crazy moves just happened today on the 16:35 Lingfield that reversed as per the script. Great little strategy.

  4. This is great but it's so confusing to actually use automation. I have no idea how to get started with it. Also, if everyone has these notification's set up, I don't see how everyone could profit. Surely the opportunity will just be taken up by someone far quicker than I am (like you for example).

  5. Every single Olympic football market on Thursday that I saw, someone had laid all three possible outcomes at odds of 48. Was only for £2 each time, but nice position for the other side nonetheless.

  6. I once saw a situation where someone was quite clearly using a bot to lay on the win market of a race. Unfortunately for them, their lay bets were going to the place market. Almost felt guilty taking their money.
