When I first started trading on horse racing markets, I knew nothing about horse racing. But I managed to profit from them anyhow by trading order flow.
Trading price action or order flow is a familiar concept in financial markets, where short term traders profit from small price movements in financial assets.
You can do the same thing on Betfair by laying at a lower price than you back at. But in order to do that, you need to pick a direction in which prices will trend. Trading order flow may seem unusual, but it’s a highly effective Betfair trading strategy when you have had a bit of practice.
Trading order flow is about finding a trend, small or large and being slightly ahead of the market in order to get your opening and closing trades in at an advantageous price.
In this example, Peter Webb is your tutor as you hear him using Bet Angel to teach somebody to take advantage of a short term price move in a market.

This is my biggest problem.
I would back before a crossover then it turns around on me and the reason why I would back at these points is because I have seen the odds go through this points many times.
And then another way I get caught is backing when it's at the top of it's range then it drifts out, if I could stop these two things I feel that it would help a LOT as I am hanging on to trades then it goes in play and then losing all my money.
Amazing video Peter thank you for sharing would love to see more of this of you teaching people
ah.. order flow, sorry.. now I get it
What would be your maximum stake on this market Peter?
Can you trade order flow with either scalping and or swing trading or is it best suited for one?
Is it only myself who struggles to make a go of showing a profit from trading or does Peter seem to have a monopoly ?????????
More orderflow videos Peter please ,really enjoyed this one excellent
"He's given up". If I was teaching my daughter to trade I would say 'They have given up'. Not everything in this world is male dominated, no saying that trader wasn't female.
It was actually quite good you were helping someone out at the same time. 2nd fav was moving in and expected to see fav move out quicker than it did.
Peter you're the man don't get me wrong but consider at 1017 in video. To me it looks like they are gonna back favourite and second favourite could easily come back towards 6. Keeping the trade was obviously a good move but it was an educated guess for sure – but the favourite could easily have come back in to 3 again???
good luck bet angel !
priceless, more when you have the time please.
Would you call trading order flow a strategy or a trading style within a strategy or a strategy within a trading style? Was that swing trading?
Great to see your thought processes in action thanks. A valuable video.
Would love to see a more lengthly version of trading orderflow, perhaps over 5 to 6 races done in one video whilst you are speaking your mind. You have indicated that you have traded order flow for the best part of 20 years? So i would like to get to that knowledge level at some point. Would also find it really helpful if you could produce one of the order flow videos in slow mo showing money coming in and out of the market and when exactly to open a position.
hahaha I have absolutely no idea what is happening here. confused.com
I’ve seen this vid a few times now. I’m over the moon I can see what’s going on now.
You're right – good format for a video. Enjoyed that.
…. having a defined exits should your position go against you helps you take control of your emotions. As you say, have a plan.
Good video of actual trading. Controlling your risk (on your OP) allows you run into the Red, temporarily, and not take a loss when you dont have too (sometimes you do). If you overstake you will realise a loss ( when faced with it) when it should have been a win. Do not Overstake – 0.5% risk of your bank is good, if that is too low £wise your bank is too small.
Peter, thanks. I wish you could publish more videos like this !
Putting trading into words is not an easy task , different set ups need different tool sets and techniques , this video allows one to pick up your thought process and learn 👍🏼… data i.e forecasted total volume to be matched, correlation, fill rate, FOMO , resistance/ support, demand /supply , smart money, spoofers..e.t.c Sounds like Greek Latin jargons until one transits from theory to live trading . HoW is the student coping? Still trading ?
Good content Peter, thank you. More stuff on football please. Euro 2020 is around the corner.
Very useful Peter thanks, more examples please!
Hi Peter, do you have rules as to when you will start to look at a market? I.e Not before post 5 mins or at least 100k matched?
Great stuff, this is a good way of demonstrating the process.
Great, please could you do a longer version if poss.
One to watch a few times. Thanks Peter
The student was one of the daughters I guess…🙂
Thank You, Peter.
Fair play peter, You always put out high quality videos. You'll sail into heaven man !!!
