Betfair trading on Horse racing | Here is why your trading can be good and bad

When I first started Betfair trading on Horse Racing, I soon picked up speed and started really looking for to my first year of trading.

But as I headed into the new year I hit a complete roadblock. My trading seemed to dive and there was nothing I could do about it. It seemed like I’d lost my edge or the strategies I was using were no longer working.

I soon recovered and hit my stride again and had a really good year. Only to find the following year I went through the same cycle again. I figured something was up, so decide to try and learn what was happening and why.

In a nutshell it was seasonality and once I learned what happened and why, I just learnt to adapt my trading.

This video is about how seasonality will affect your Betfair trading on horse racing and what I do about it.

It should reassure you if you are beginner or just starting out on your Betfair trading journey.

  1. Thanks for sharing link to this great video, one question i have. after making good progress the last few months in the weaker winter markets( compared to the last summer of trading where it felt very random) Im starting to feel comfortable in the markets but will I have to alter trading style to suit the spring summer markets

Thanks for all the great content Peter 👍

  2. This is exactely what i was looking on the forum 2 weeks ago and now i get the explanation in a video.thank you !

  3. Always come up with something interesting that I hadn’t stood back and considered before. Especially if late videos have been excellent!

  4. Would seasonality really affect a ' small ' trader ? A fav that drifts in the winter is the same as a drifter in the summer if you're only using say £50 trades. I can see the issue with the big players. What amount is safe so to speak ?

  5. Slightly off topic but I find it mentally draining to Trade a full Saturday. After only a couple of hours in I'm not thinking as clearly as I did in those first half a dozen races.

  6. Hi Peter, how do you manage the risk of markets ‘gapping’ past your exit and running off leaving you deeper in the red? Thanks

  7. started my free trial yesterday, very excited to learn. Im starting with £500 in my account. What do you think is a sensible amount of money to aim for per trade? I know aiming for amounts isnt smart however Id like to get a rough idea should I be aiming for an average of say £1 per trade? or £0.10 per trade for now? Would be very helpful for me, thank you Peter and keep the content and inspiration coming.
