Out of curiosity did you lay the horses your bot picked on Smarkets or different ones as you watched the odds change.
I'm in a discord group doing a similar strategy, but 3rd fav at 2 mins out can be very different at post time. So far so good but the strategy only picks a drifting horse.

Sorry to hear about your losses. As others have said recovery staking doesn’t work. You need months or years of data to really find the edges and you need to supplement the data you get on price with other information (trends, form, etc)

Recovery strategy is risky, not sure if you have looked at the favourite lay with little Acorns. It worked for a few years and then everything and more was given back the next year.
Data back dated a strategy yesterday, in 2018 without extra filters it won 85 points. Following year it lost. Very hard to find anything without tailoring it to much for one year and then getting bombed the next.
We all have to learn the lesson 😭😭
