Betfair trading strategies – Scalping on Bet Angel and batched orders

When trading on Betfair you want to get one order matched then another. You can put them in at the same time but often it makes sense to only put one in when one has filled.

In this video, I’m scalping and doing so initially with the offset bet going in after one side has completely filled then I using batch orders to get the opposing side to fill as the initial order does.

It’s a neat trick to use to get your order to fill quickly and only when matched as part of a larger order. You could split an order of £10 into 5 batches for example.

  1. Is the batches will work in live mode only but not in practice mode cause it's not real money it will place the bet in one batch even if there is not enough liquidity to cover the bet amount?

  2. Hi Peter,
Do you have an instructional video where i create an order where i lay for example the 3rd fav at $6 and i want to offset it by 50 ticks when it is in play……so when the price gets to for example $3 , betangel will fire in a back bet for the best price at $3 or thereabouts…..is this possible ? Thankyou.

  3. hi Peter, great video as always. Though i am a bit confused as to what the batch number relates to? Does 64, in this example, mean you are breaking up the order into 2 pieces of 64? Or is it breaking it up into 64 equal batches (i.e. of £2 each)? Or something else maybe? Thank you !

  4. Hi Peter. I think that I have finally cracked it on Bet Angel Pro and having a pretty good week! Does the offset batching work on a lowering price market? ie backing high then auto laying low or is it only on an upward price market where you demonstrate laying low then auto backing high? Many thanks Glen

  5. I've used BA for years and didn't really understand what batching was used for. Good video. Similar to partial matching in Racing Traders.

  6. Thanks for all the videos Peter, only for you going to all the trouble of posting them trading would be a minefield .Plus Betangel is a pretty slick bit of software.Keep up the good work!
