It’s nice to look at Betfair charts and see the longer trend but there is also a lot of danger in using the charts if you have no idea what they represent. @jwgeezer – It's like any market, you need to get a +ve expectancy to make money from it. There are a number of advantages on Betfair however due to lower transaction costs and generaly efficient markets. The barrier to profitability isn't far away.
