Betfair Trading Video – Drifting price – Caan Berry

– In this Betfair trading video I’ll show you how a drifting price can provide an ideal trading opportunity. Drifting prices happen every day on Betfair, mainly due to a lack of betting money. For more information about drifting prices and Betfair trading videos in general check out:

  1. Hi Caan. Was re-watching a few of your videos. This is old video so not sure if you will see this comment but I noticed at around 1:51 you say that of the top 4 you layed Hurricane Vic as the other 3 were fairly strong. I was confused by this as Well Rewarded looks to be drifting nicely at this point and Hurricane Vic while possibly expanding its range looks to be in a trading range. The fav is not exactly steaming either. Only the 4th fav Under the Phone seems to be pushing lower(looking strong)? What have I missed that you see in terms of strength? Is it that the other 3 have come in over the long term-even while the market was less mature? Thanks in advance

  2. Hi Caan! I think I'm missing something, but what was the reason you spotted the drift of the second favourite? I mean – almost 6 minutes to post time, the liquidity is poor, all the things look similar for #2 and #3, except prices and then – WOW! And the second goes up! I'm new to trading, but for me it looks like magic 🙂 Or because of you know some stuff behind the market – like horse form, etc.? Thanks!

  3. Im sure like a lot of people wishing to be more successful at this finding that even trading at the resistant point or support point and there is weight of money in our favour the price shoots off the wrong way, tonight though while trading Chelmsford the price on a horse I was trading literally went out 20 ticks in 3 seconds, obviously this is something that was said by the trainer or how the horse behaved in the paddock, lesson learned have at the races or racing uk on tv close by. Lucky for me the price bounced back down otherwise would have been looking at a massive loss, scary stuff and a real confidence knocker.

  4. Can I just confirm that you have a liability on Hurricane Vic of £1700 at one point? Which means you'd need a good few grand in the old Betfair account in order to facilitate this single trade. Is there any way to get reasonable profit at lower stakes/liabilities? I assume that backing first would obviously reduce the liability then trade out with the lay but I do find that laying first works more often. Also, do you have any tips to actually 'spot' moves? For instance volume changes or any graphs or technical analysis that may assist in decision confirmation?
