Like many scams, Herbalife plays off of people's own greed. Always beware of that in life, ive learned it the hard way once or twice. Just because you can't readily spot how something isn't right, doesn't mean it's legitimate.
Knowing that these people got swindled because of their own greed tempers my sympathy for them. I still know its fucked up, and they were preyed on, but hey, some people sell crack to feed their kids, too. I think even the Herbalife ceo partly buys his own bs. Either he drinks the koolaid or has some other fucked up way of justifying it to himself.
The ones who are making out like bandits are the manufacturers of the products. No matter what, they geat paid. Plus at a insane profit margin, no doubt.
The less financially sophisticated/savvy as an investor(or no investing experience), or the worse you are at math, the less likely you are to detect its a scam because of the lack of due diligence.
