  2. I want bots in MM back when someone leaves

    Just make it so the bot always stays at spawn and that the bot can drop a weapon for you

    Playing 4v5 with a bit more money each round is far worse then having a bot that you can take over when you die imo

  3. Hopefully with Source 2 engine, there will be more ways to improve the bots. Imo the bots in CSS were stupid, but could HS you the moment they saw you, which made them kinda hard to play against. Now in CSGO, the bots barely know where they are going and their shooting is even worse.

  4. I hope for the day where "bots" can 'learn' from player demos in a supervised manner or self supervised reinforcement environment. Perhaps even have a level of inter agent communication. Which i believe is the most interesting part of such a problem.

  5. 11:10 – Going in with a proper design philosophy and being able to essentially "throw away" previous work to stick to that philosophy and achieve a better product in the long run is a sign of a project that'll put out amazing stuff. The fact that these features weren't overlooked, but purposely set aside to polish the core gameplay loop is so nice to hear in an era of scope creep and making everything BIGGER

  6. As a mapper and perpetual aim-trainer with zero social confidence, I play with bots more than most. This is freaking awesome and Bez is a legend.

  7. this guy is kinda stupid, how is spawning weapons to bots any different than players buying weapons in a menu ??

  8. Sounds like a story of developing CPMA bots for Quake 3 in early 2000's. Same problems same solutions.

  9. Question, why does it take so long to draw a weapon in Counter Strike? In almost every other game, you draw your weapons ready to fire unless the gun is empty and it is done very quickly. In CS, you run out of ammo or your current weapon is inappropriate for the current situation, you are fucked since getting hit prevents slows you down tremendously and changing weapons takes ages. This is also not an engine limitation since OG Half Life and Half Life 2 + expansions doesn’t have this issue and allows you to switch weapons instantly. Why implement this feature into the game?
