Brandon Toews Learns “The Dying Song” As Fast As Possible

A little while ago, we dared Domino Santantonio – a modern pop drummer – to play a Slipknot song after hearing it once.

She’s not a metal drummer and she’s never listened to Slipknot. We also didn’t let her hear what the drum part sounded like. Call us unfair, but we thought it turned out great!

Domino gave it her own spin, and over 2.5M views later, she’s back to give us a taste of our own medicine.

  1. You're A-MA-ZING!!!!! I knew you were going to nail this song!!!! Thanks to the Drumeo team for helping me choose this one! Congrats Brandon 😉🔥👏🏼

  2. The fills were sick, dude! Overall very well done! In a cover band or even live at a Slipknot concert I assume 90% of the people wouldnt notice a difference.

  3. Every drummer ever,if he/she respects the art of drumming should once in life experience drumcam video of Nils Fjellström Dominator, and after it continue duing his/her own thing, and enjoy it. Because playing music is not a competition, but you can apreciate knowing theres someone who is doing what you are doing but on some insane levels. Love you all and god bless you.

  4. If you say "I don't play double bass, but I learned that meshuggah song," you are going to be just fine.
    Domino is a Drum Goddess.

  5. Recording engineer: "If you bring a china in to the studio, you better use it…"

    Brandon: "Watch me!"

Also amazing work! Really enjoyed it.

Although I do like the format you did with Domino, where the drummer couldn't hear the original drums and had to come up with their own version. It's always interesting to hear another musician's take on a piece. (Especially when it's outside of their genre)

  6. I know not many watching this content might get this, but this guys looks and sounds and has many very similar mannerisms as the professional disc golfer Eagle McMahon. It is uncanny.
