I’m a Taiwanese Canadian immigrant. My family and I immigrated to Canada in the early 2000s. As an average middle class family from Taiwan, adjusting to the lifestyle in North America was not easy. There were many financial struggles, and a lot of shame.
I’m very grateful to be able to immigrate to Canada, and on top of that, I have strong parents showing me the true meaning of perseverance and hard work. My immigrant parents are extremely positive. Rather than focusing on the lack of money, or cry and whine, they turned those into practical lessons for my siblings and I. We delivered news papers, collected bottles, and worked part time jobs in order to enjoy luxuries like eating out once a month. We learned to work for our money and reap the fruits of our labor.
It’s with the same positive mindset, and worth ethic, that I climbed my ranks up in my former career, before quitting my job to day trade full time. The process was anything but easy, but I learned from my parents. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. This applies very much to any career path, including day trading.
