The 2021 Race to Dubai comes to an end at this week’s DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. With the chance to win the final European Tour event and the opportunity for some players to end the year as European Number One, there’s plenty to play for this week. While any of the players in the 53-man field can end the week as DP World Tour Champion, only six can finish the season as European Number One. Race to Dubai leader Collin Morikawa is aiming to be the first American to claim the title. He tops the standings courtesy of winning The Open and the WGC – Workday Championship, as well as a couple of other top-8 performances in majors this year. Billy Horschel, who captured the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in September, is also in the running to become the first American to win the Race to Dubai and will do so with a victory at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Tyrrell Hatton memorably captured a record-breaking fifth Rolex Series title in Abu Dhabi at the start of the year. He heads to Dubai requiring all 2,000 points and Morikawa and Horschel to finish worse than a three-way tie for third and second, respectively. Other players also in the running are Min Woo Lee, Matt Fitzpatrick and Paul Casey. It’s all to play for…

  1. Oh, I'm late. Not a fan of golf. But this was a nice Purse money. 9m and 3m. THat's 12m take home. Not the same as the NBA guys but hey those guys are freaks.

  2. I love golf, started playing in 1960's in Scotland. What the f### is going on when we allow scum to control a major tour?

  4. I just heard about this guy (not a massive watcher of golf even though i do like to play ) but damn his swing is beautiful.

  5. Wow, the nerves are there but I am excited and channeled those energy into excitement. Congratulations to Collin Morikawa – Bow!

  6. Love watching Morikawa play golf, so clutch, love the way he hits the irons as he makes it look so effortless.

He also handles himself well, hope he stays at the top for years to come 🙂

  7. IMO his mental focus and determination reminds me of Tiger. Many have skill, but like someone said, “ golf is a game of inches” – the 6 inches between the ears that makes the difference.

  8. The best player right now in the world! This kid is amazing both in his play and as a human being. Very wise beyond his age!!

  9. Everyone talks about drivers and putting. Yet Tiger was dominant because of his iron play and Morikawa looks very similar.

  10. Rory is becoming like my fav SA golfer compatriot Louis Oosthuizen…can be fiercely competitive for 3 out of 4 days…then seems to lose energy/concentration/gas when it matters most. Besides Sheiks sons and rich heirs…Morikawa must be the richest 24 yr old on the planet. He deserves every cent–he simply out grinds everyone else. If he needed a blood transfusion they would wheel him down to where the dry ice is kept

  11. Morikawa is the best golfer in the world.has the potential to be the golfer of his generation love his pure swing

  12. he might surpass jack's record of 18 majors not sure about Tiger's and Sam Snead's record of 82 wins but he'll come close.

  13. The organizer remains faithful to the sponsor: as prizes there will be the crankshaft and the transmission bell of the M6 as a prize

  14. Why the strange title ' Collin Morikawa beats Rory McIlroy in Dubai' he beat everyone who played those 4 days. It wasn't match play.

  15. Just feel really sorry for Rory. He did have a good chance. That chip shot that hit the stick which sent his ball into the bunker changed everything. If he was able to close that hole with a birdie instead of a bogey, it would have brought a good momentum to him through out the rest of the holes. It would have been more exciting to watch. Having said that, Colin made an incredible late run which was really amazing. Exciting round. Just felt sorry for Rory to end up this way.

  16. Morikawa's balls go where he wants them to, whereas McIlroy HOPES they go there. That's the difference. Rory needs to concentrate more on direction than distance and his current method won't let him. He'll never win consistently unless he changes.

  17. As an American, I can only assume this, but Collin has just won what every European player desires in 1/2 a year. The Open, Ryder Cup, and Race to Dubai 😳
