Rivals, kneel down to revere the history built by Corinthians and Fiel on this December 16, 2012. Unprecedented. Eternal. The team formed by workers’ players, the people’s club and the passionate fans that crossed continents have football at their feet. Suffered, sweaty, cried, Corinthians beat Chelsea 1-0, in Yokohama, and stopped being just Paulista as it is written in its centenary symbol. Corinthians belongs to the world. Two-time world champion.

The Corinthians conquest has a hero at either end of the field. In defense, Cássio grew above his 1.95m to create a new category of miracles and defend shots from Cahill, Moses and Torres. The last, already close to the final whistle. In the attack, Paolo Guerrero shone. The same Guerrero who was in doubt for the tournament. The same hero of the classification in the semifinals. Now, immortalized with the head goal in the 23rd minute.

As in Libertadores, won against the always feared Boca Juniors, Corinthians reaches the title against a powerful opponent. Chelsea, the ultimate symbol of the new football led by patrons from Eastern Europe or the Arabs, has succumbed to a starless but extremely efficient opponent.

The triumph over the English completes a cycle of grandiose victories that began with a historic defeat. From Series B to stardom. Corinthians relegated at the 2007 Brasileirão learned from their mistakes and restructured to reach the top. Now, it emerges as one of the powers of national football in the coming years.

Tatuapé, Mooca, Interlagos, Itaquera, Pirituba, Jardim Ângela, Cachoeira, Vila Mazzei, Vila Moraes, Cangaíba, Tucuruvi, Capão, Bela Vista, Guarulhos, Francisco Morato, Tabão da Serra, Carapicuíba, Itaquaquecetuba, Pindamonhangaba, Serra Negra, Suzano, Mogi Guaçu, Cubatão, Praia Grande, Rio Preto, Indaiatuba, Sorocaba, Jundiaí, Curitiba, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Santa Catarina Miami, Sydney …

… the Fiel flags hanging at the stadium this Sunday symbolize one of the greatest demonstrations of love in the history of football. Alvinegros from all parts made the stadium of the finals a giant Pacaembu. The streets of the East are taken, driving the rigid Japanese crazy with the cries of “Go, Corinthians” at a party that will only end in Brazil. Or anywhere else on Earth.
