#ItAintMe

Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they’re red, white and blue
And when the band plays “Hail to the chief”
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no senator’s son, son
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, no

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don’t they help themselves, oh
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no millionaire’s son, no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, no

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, “How much should we give?”
Ooh, they only answer “More! More! More!” yoh

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no military son, son
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, one

It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, no no no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate son, no no no

  1. Literally an anti war song:
People use this song to glorify how "powerful" muh military is:

  2. Agent orange, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Slavery, Killing 100 million Native Americans (its more than Hitler killed Jews), And yet the whole world forgives them everything, I am amazed at the injustice to this nation. Over the past 70 years, they have unleashed 33 wars. And they tell everyone what to do😂

  3. I'm in Kyiv, and got tickets for the CCR show along ago. First that was the lockdown, next the war with these pesky russians. I can remember these songs since I was a teenager. not sure if I can listen to them in my home city.

  4. Fun Fact: The lyrics speak to the privilege that some people have when it comes to military service those who are born into wealthy or influential families can often avoid fighting in wars, while less fortunate people are drafted or enlisted.

  5. The yanks have lost too many sons .in stupid conflicts that politicians cock up.just like us Brits .let the other countries sort there own shit out.

  6. And that's why my father was the 1st Kansas national guardsman drafted into a foreign conflict during the Vietnam War.
