  1. Question: We have a digital antenna which exits to coax. Can we hook a MoCa transmitter to the digital antenna and the MoCa receiver to the back of our television to receive digital television?

  2. Do you know if these are the same as the frontier moca FCA251? I was looking to get the goCoax MoCA 2.5 Adapter with 2.5GbE Ethernet Port but I have the Frontier FCA251 currently and was looking for an upgrade. Thank you for the video

  3. Have you used a –parallel option with iperf3 (wifiperf)? How did you get that speed with the single threaded test?

  4. Is it possible for me to use these adapters while I have my isp cable modem hooked up to my nighthawk router in bridge mode?

  5. Bought 3 of these base on your recommendation. Got home networking at our new home up and running with them while I figured out the Ethernet situation. Turned out phone lines were done with cat 5E so i ended up reterminating those in 6 rooms and eliminating one of these MOCA adapters in the office. Where the TV is I don't have an ethernet jack though so until I run a wire there I am still using gocoax and it is working great! Such a cool technology!

  6. Hi Lon , i got these two adapters but for some reason lan streaming of 60 gb uhd atmos rips is just not working. It is connected to my Shield TV. I use Kodi for playback. Any ideas why ? Does it work for you ?

  7. So what if you’re cable modem says it has moca inside the software. Mine has a moca tab in it. Just wondering if I could just use one with the cable modem?

  8. Just a quick question is the TV both in and out? As in if I want to send TV signal to other floors to TV. I would hook one to the cable box / antenna and then just use the other unit connect the TV to the TV section? Is that correct.

  9. I’ve been trying to figure out do I need to buy 2 of these? I have telus wifi hub that has built in moca, can I just screw in coax into the wifi hub to the wall and then use this adapter in another room that has moca port? Then plug lan cable from Adapter to my ps4

  10. Holy "Time to get a new computer, Batman!" Those two dinosaurs at the start of the video need upgrading! Ok not really. Brings back memories and wish I owned them. Cheers

  11. Did you ever test older devices with multiple newer ones? You tested 2.5 to 2.0 (1.3gbit max) at 12:30 and got 900mbit, but didn't seem to simultaneously test a bunch more? My impression was that when your 1.3gbit has 900mbit being used (70% of max speed), you only have 30% of the "transmission time" remaining – which if a link is 3.6gbit, is probably still enough for 900mbit+, since 3.6 * 0.3 is 1.08gbit – but what if you mixed an older 200mbit adapter in? If you try to push 1gbit over two MOCA 2.5 adapters and max out the older 200mbit adapter, how does the available speed get split? I'd think the older adapter would "tie up the coax lines" longer and drain 33-50% of the speed, leaving just barely enough for the newer adapters to go full throttle, but leaving the older adapter with a severe performance hit? If you had a mix of adapter speeds, it'd be the worst, since the MOCA 2.0 adapters already use a lot of their "transmission time" to reach full speed. With mostly 2.5 devices, it seems to be less of an issue?

  12. My internet is coax, can I connect the coax line to GoCoax MoCA 2.5 and then connect by RJ45 to the modem and distribute the wifi / lan network?

  13. I have two of these adapters set up on my network correctly I'm assuming. How do I find the configuration page? The 254 address does not work. It's not a big deal as everything seems to be working

  14. If my initial internet entering my home already comes via coaxial, do I split the coax before it gets to my modem and run it back to said splitter to reach the rest of my house?

  15. My internet comes into the house via coax. You mention only tv in the review.
Is one able to split the internet line coming into the house (one end into my ISP modem & the other end into the mica device?
Can internet signal from ISP coming into the house co exist on the same line that's getting sent to the other mica device etc?

  16. So if I'm plugging this in at my modem and router, do I have to have the modem plugged to the adapter as well, or can I just have the ethernet from the router going to the adapter?

  17. Hey guys…I purchased two of these, plugged them in but no lan or mica light came on. All I had was the power light…any advice will help?
Also, Direct TV uses Ethernet split into 2 ports on modem???

  18. Can I use this device on a router.. meaning.. from router LAN port —–>Extender—>Extender—->another computer in another room that has Coax jack?

  19. Lots of conflicting information if I can use my over-the-air antenna with this MoCa. . . is it possible to use OTA antenna with gocoax Moca adapter.

  20. Your main house powered distribution amp and your splitters all need to be MOCA compliant splitters. You also need a MoCA terminator at your point of entry in your house; keeping in mind that many MoCA distibution amps have MoCA filters already in them such as the PPC-9m-u/u-ps and the PCT -VC-F19AUPI.

The popular MoCA Commscope units provided by Comcast, Spectrum etc usually DO NOT have terminators in them. You would need to check to see if your cable provider installed a terminator at your outside box, otherwise buy one for $5 and install on the cable inlet on your distribution amp.

    Unpowered splitters suck. Avoid them.

  21. My MoCA light turns off for hours at a time and I have to default to a much slower connection over Wi-Fi. I cannot figure out why it works sometime and other times it doesn't. Quite frustrating tbh.
