But you know what, although Russia got affected, Putin has played the Game of Thrones of Geopolitics so well that now Europe is facing an economic crisis!!
The annual inflation rate of Energy has touched a record high of 41.9%, food inflation has touched 10.4% and now the GDP growth of 27 countries is slowing down because of Russia!!
The question is, with all the support from US, in spite of being a cluster of 27 countries and inspite of not waging a war at all, How did Europe end up in such a terrible state??

what people dont understand is that yes short term energy prices are going to the moon but long term russia will lose a big market in europe because we will not be buying as much gas and oil from russia like we did in the past so it will hurt russia more. here in europe the prices are already dropping alot because we find alternative suppliers.
What posessed WEST with stupidity to severly sunction Rusdia ? Russia is defending its security by not allowing NATO within its borders . Responded with invasion because Ukrainian Azov Batalion was killing Russian citizens living in the eastern region , Zelenski regime was brutal toward Russian speaking citizens , forbid use of Russian language in every institution .Rusdian langueage was mandatory in governmental OFFICES until this crazy comedian took reign.
Mr. Putin was warning Ukraine not to demand NATO per Minsk agreement . Hubris of tjis corrupt comedian , Zelenski listening to just as corrupt American politicians was not following Minsk agreement . For eight long yrs. Ukrainians killed 14, 000 Russian citizens and the WEST was silent !!!! No journalist was allowed to bring to Knowledge for world attention about this atrocity that took place in the Donbas region . Some democracy ? This is democracy in Ukraine ?

I noticed some people are marking arguments that these video is one sided (showing Russian side) but entire western media is showing one sided news since the beginning of this war. So, consider this as the other side of the story.
There were 2 world wars with tens of millions of deaths, entire cities were wiped out … we are used to sacrifice are well being for a great cause it is in our blood past down by our parents/grandparents, grand-grandparents! We stand with Ukraine till the end, since this the right thing to do…. 8 mil Ukrainians refugees are spread all across Europe and we welcomed them with open arms.. because any European country could be in their place.
Very poor quality analysis. Russia is on its knees. If they have reduced their gas flow 80% to Europe – this supply cannot be rerouted. Not sure how you can't see how much trouble Russia is in. "One of the strongest performing currencies" can't even be traded – its amazing what capital controls can do. Outsiders can't sell their shares either – so the market is only down 50%. Your analysis is very short sighted, by the end of the year EU will be mostly independent from Russian gaz and oil, gaz and oil reserves will be filled before October at this rate, 4 new LNG will be opened and connected in Germany by the end of November, gaz import from the US are allready up by 400% going up to 700% by the end of the year.
This situation while good for Russia in the short term will completely destroy Russia on the long term, gaz and oil export amount to 30% of the GDP of Russia and 70% of oil and gaz export go to Western countries …
When europe will be independent from Russian exports, and it will sooner than you think, the sanctions on those goods will happen and will not get lifted until the end of the war.
This will devastate the Russian economy and most probably will make the Russian state implode …

Very interesting. You forgot to mention that India and China are both getting $35 /barrel discounts from Russia, bringing prices down to prewar levels. Circuitous shipping routes and lack of tanker capacity also choke this alternative export route.

To squeeze in a complicated matter into 15 minutes requires cutting corners, I understand that fully. However, the actual picture may vary substantially when diving deep into the stats (Eg. Finland imported 92% of it's gas from Russia in 2021. The total share of gas in Finland's energy production is less than 8% and being replaced by nuclear this year. And when put in an even larger perspective, only 12 % of total goods imports to Finland were from Russia and out of that 62% were energy related such as wood pellets, coal etc. Direct electricity imports were even less… ) We will be fine 🙂

I need to also point out that this war is not really destroying europe. Most european countries were not relying on russian gas except for germany. This is because all countries bordering russia were preparing for this since they got there indepedence from it. Food supply in europe is not endangered at all, the food got more expensive, because food products from western europe are more expensive in general. European countries are all fully able to supply themselves with food. Inflation Was more effected by covid than the Ukraine war. Another thing is that Winter is not that large of a problem for the people. I live in germany and last Winter i didn't use my heater once. Russia just woke up the europeans from the stupidity they have been dreaming the last years. Winter in germany will turn the country into a very different country. The same goes for many other countries. The continent will remilitarize and start being a lot more aggressiv and active.
Russia is just giving europe to the USA. Thats whats happening here.

I don't think you understand (and you must be forgiven for that because it's European politics, and more than that, European history) – it's not Putin's strategy to destroy EU, it's American strategy to undermine EU, and broader than that – it's a British strategy to cripple continental Europe and never allow continental powers of Europe (Germany and Russia) to unite (all that are Americans doing in Europe since WW2 is serving British interests and this is not exception). This game is going on for centuries, it's nothing new. Russia is only doing what it has to do to survive, and Putin is playing the tactical moves brilliantly, but on a strategic scale his hands are tied and all moves forced.
