  1. The gambling industry is responsible for financial and personal ruin on a massive scale. It is largely criminal in nature and should be outlawed.

  2. It’s not just the apps but you’ll see the machines in ever gas station, restaurant, etc. I was in a fine steakhouse in IL and they even had a wall of gaming.

  3. Equating gambling to the ‘gun lobby’ is wild. It’s literally in the constitution- “shall not be infringed” get out of here.

  4. After watching this video I was wondering if there should be another video for Singapore: pretty sure it's quite popular too, and I think gambling culture is only going to continue spreading as claw machines (basically slot machines for kids) have been springing up EVERYWHERE and the industry in Singapore is relatively big for the country's size too

  5. A lot of my friends gamble on draftkings, fanduel, etc. and always try to convince me to do it as well. I always just say I’m too broke or don’t keep up with sports enough, both are lies I watch football and hockey almost religiously, play sports video games and fantasy sports.

I just recognize the predatory nature of these sites. They don’t allow you to stop, they offer you freebie bets that are almost guaranteed to win so you don’t lose out and stop, but also don’t allow you to pull your winnings from the freebie out. Everything they do is to keep you playing regardless of how much you lose.

It turns people from normal sports fans trying to watch a game, into actual lunatics screaming about how the NFL is rigged to cover the spread or whatever. It’s concerning honestly

  6. No, the bill didn’t make sense. It outlawed Poker and then called sports betting a skill game. It’s only a skill game for a very select few.

  7. You should be able to do whatever you want with your money. However don’t come crying about your lack of healthcare and education, or income inequality. I hate how our society does stupid crap with their money and then wants the taxpayers to subsidize their awful life choices. Goto any convenience store during the evening and guess the socioeconomic class of the people you see buying the lotto tickets.

    With freedom comes responsibility.

It’s also so ridiculous our society will cancel people for saying racist or offensive stuff but totally turns a blind eye to the economic exploitation taking place before their eyes. These leagues, corporations, and celebrities all clamor for moral authority by saying how much they care about blacks and gays meanwhile they are sucking up that ad money from gambling enterprises.

Who’s really doing the harm? People like Don Imus or Kanye West? Or maybe your state lotto and corporations like Fan Duel or Draft Kings? How about Jim Cramer on CNBC, Tom Brady and Larry David with FTX, Kevin O’Leary on Shark Tank? Why aren’t they being cancelled?

These people are not only given a platform to spread their cancer. They are deferred to when talking about things like wealth management and self improvement!

Just because it’s legal doesn’t make it right.

  8. don't address the companies doing these things, just restrict the rights of everyday people. typical propaganda targeting who it claims to help.

  9. Really a great video until you said the govt needs to keep people from choosing to gamble by making it inconvenient. Should definitely prevent malicious addiction forming schemes and such, but the whole “prevent prevent people from making a decision for themselves” thing is dangerous rhetoric that kinda ruined the otherwise awesome and important video

  10. What’s messed up is I know how to make money betting on sports, but the state I live in doesn’t allow it over the internet, only at a casino you have to physically be at to wager. Yet, all the states surrounding the state I live in you can wager online. It pisses me off so much because I can double my money every year (I’m not a delusional gambling addict). I’m in my early 50’s and I’m thinking about moving to a state where I can do this because of this return but it pauses me off that I have to. Just had to vent lol
