I was always told that the knob was called the spool tension knob. But, now that I think about it, it IS a centrifugal brake system.
I`m 82 now and thinking I would like to learn this makes me think I`ll do it thanks

I kept having problems..not casting consistently…I used a name brand quality reel vs my first store brand reel.. and wow the Lews felt so much better!! I went and got my own, spent a bit more and boom!! Still far to go, but progressed quickly..

Baitcasting is for short difficult accurate casts, spincasting is for long easy open casts. Baitcasters work better with heavyweight lures spincasting is capable of light weight lures. When you practicing baitcasting you can cast further and practice spincasting you can cast more accurately. I use exclusively spincasting and am able to cast accurately…. I do want to get a couple of baitcasters though.

I don't think you can learn much. there is a need to show casting in practice.
I know that this is an older video but I just learned something. Normally I'm trying to get the most distance by bringing it back behind me and whipping it out there. But I've actually gotten more distance keeping the rod in front of me which forces me to cast it with less power. Thanks for the tips.
Hand position! OMG you have no idea how invaluable that one little tip just saved me hours of untangling my reel. I can't believe how it made that much of a difference!
I'm guilty of trying to get distance right out the gate lol. Other casters though , I do pretty good but bait casters is against all that. Thanks for this awesome video. I plan on going fishing today later on.
