How to find a great Betfair trading pattern on pre-race horse racing

Betfair trading can seem complicated at times and there is a lot of contradictory advice about what to look for and how to find a great Betfair trading opportunity.

As you may be aware, my favourite market is pre-off horse racing and there are many ways to trade that market.

But my favourite way to trade is using order flow. Trying to work out what people are doing and why.

I trade each market like this, with a number of additional strategies thrown in on top. This allows me to trade most markets that pop up on my trading screen.

However, there is no obligation to do this. You can just sit and wait for the right market to appear and for the right trading set-up.

When you see it, you can swing into action and get a profitable Betfair trade.

All you need is a repeating pattern, which is what we show in this video.

Always remember, however, not every trade can go your way. But as long as you work hard to stake correctly and find the opportunity and manage your trade.

Over the long term you should be able to move from seeing these as they occur to starting to anticipate them.

  1. Thanks Peter, I would be grateful for yours thoughts on some of the ideas with respect to loss limits and or deposit limits currently being considered. I understand Betfair has imposed the £500 monthly limit for under 25 years, and that a blanket £100 loss limit per month for everyone is being considered. If this was applied to exchanges, then I don’t see how any trading would be possible. The liquidity would also be affected. Keen to know your thoughts?

  2. Gorgeous day where you are Peter, and I'm sure I heard some cattle or sheep in the background. Can't beat living in the sticks young man, and as usual a brilliant, detailed and easy to understand video for us all 👍

  3. That would have been a nice eg to see you trade and describe why you entered and why you exited at that moment in time, it would have brought everything you have described in this video to life

  4. You say these trades occur mainly in lower class and Maiden races. Then go on to say you use the system in Paris , the Breeders Cup and Dubai. All top quality venues ?
