How to find the RACING LINE-Driving Skills EPISODE 2

Finding the racing line is the most critical part of fast lap times but can be very hard to identify and I will share the easiest way I found over the years !
Physical marks for the different points of your racing line are very important not just for consistency but they can be reference points for testing different approach to every corner !
Driving iRacing , Assetto Corsa Competizione , RaceRoom , Automobilista 2 , Dirt Rally , rFactor 2 , or any other SIM or real Racing , the rules are the same !
For corners with blind APEX is very very important to find physical TURN IN POINT MARK to make sure you will be able to hit the Apex with precision!
If you don’t have those marks , try for a week to just look around and find ware exactly you are turning in reference to physical part of the road environment and then you can ask your brain to turn in earlier or later and check how that works for your times !

  1. hmm, marks. but heh, what do when drive on a extremely long track? like over 50km. Have to develop feel.

  2. Thanks bro, just started sim racing and this helps me a lot to lurn driving without the driving line.
Keep up the great work your videos are motivating me!👍

  3. This is my biggest problem, Its not braking into a corner i find difficult, Its the turning into the corner late to get the early an fastest exit if that makes sence, lol, I never use that racing line arrow thing that shows you the perfect raceline, Coz truth be the truth people we all have our own little way of doing things, An its often those who are drifferent in their styles of driving that come out on top, Always, Expect the unexepted, There is always somebody who is as smarter and faster than yourself, Willing to take more risks, Some risks are not worth taking, Its recognising what those risks will, Either take you out or you will win, How long you have left to make the moves you need to win, When you think about it deeply, There is a huge bunch of tasks involved in sim racing, Again the deep beuty of sim racing when iy becomes more than JUST, a game…..
Sim racing is a way if life, Now i am getting better in so many ways without realising my life is getting better, I still get post trauma problems, Hypervigilance is the worst an hardest thing i got to deal with, Always feeling fear is demoralising thats for sure, But thanks to the world of sim racing, I am becoming more myself, The old me, Still tho life is an uphill struggle, Im glad i found sim racing to help me put things into perspective, After all sim racing is more than a game……

  4. Super nice. Eye opener! I'm working on braking points and apex. But that one part, the turning point was/is missing. Time gain/loss is all over the place and it has to be the turning point!

  5. “Turn in point”. My brain. I never… thats genius! “I asked my subs and they did not know”. Yep I didn’t think of having a mark. Can’t wait to get to work on this!

  6. thanks for the vid,
how do you adjust these points when you are in a race with people as i find personally if i go just by the markers i end up in the back of another car or cant use the turn marker because there is a car there occupying that space ? i play GT Sport and people rarely give space in online races

  7. Need to practice alot to familiarize new track that we never drive before and find the braking point, turning point, apex and exit..I agreed of what you explained in this video. Thanks again.

  8. You are really amazing – I am 40 year old man and you managed to motivate me to practice in Simracing. I my mind you always find the "golden words" for everthing. And your videos are incredible good – love to watch and learn from you!

  9. Dude this channel is a game changer. I already figured out that i was doing something wrong and started to think i was using the wrong "turning point" before i even knew there is actually a turning point 😀 I need to work on this thing now. Great Contet, keep it up!

  10. Well I watched number 3 before this, but this one has been such an eye-opener….I didn't know either what a turning point was. And I think I understand a lot more now, of both videos.
Even though we use certain states of the enemy and his relative position to judge the right time to turn in in simulated virtual air combat, and it is just as crucial.

The funny thing is, it often feels like racing is trying to string together perfect lap after perfect lap, while in air combat you have to be good for 5-ish minutes and you can fudge it a lot more. 😉 A five minute Dogfight is a long one…

  11. Turn in points are the most difficult I think.
I see myself often lose too much apex speed which leads to poor exit speed.
    Especially when chasing opponents!
I feel I often lose the opportunity to overtake.
Would you do a video of overtaking strategies in the future?🤩
I will try to break up my training for each sector and plan my training a lot better.
So I will definately look more into more consistent turn in.
    Thanks again mate😎🤘🏼

  12. I've known how important good turn-in is for so long, but never thought of actually figuring out where my turn-in point needs to be.
    Thanks for the great video.

  13. You have many real wheels, would you be willing to share the actual rim size for these wheels? I'm having trouble finding it and have a 330, 320, 300, and 270 and just want to get as accurate as possible with these individual cars. Thank you, keep up the excellent videos!

  14. G'day movers and shakers.. Please check out my Hard Rubbish Rig Im creating out of peoples scrap, I have spent next to nothing and still getting great immersion and fun so far.

  15. Just discovered your videos. I think they are some of the most detailed and accessible I found so far. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Would you coach someone and film it so we can see how you identify and correct the mistakes? I think seeing you coach someone on a video would teach a lot to people the driving philosophy that you have.

  16. BIG THANKS FOR "YOU WILL NEVER BE A RACING DRIVER…" I am 18 and have the same dream, I am developing rally apps and games for now, I hope to achieve your same goal to drive a rally🤙💙

  17. Do you only race Sim? Every get out there onto the track? I am starting to race Spec Miata, but sometimes I think it would have been smarter to invest in a sim.

  18. never heard anyone give the advice to have a turn in point. it's like we all just overlooked it or assumed it's "natural." thanks! awesome driving in that rally video btw. can't wait for the next one.

  19. Just want to say thank you. I was making little progress for a while. Trying to reproduce track guides giving breaking points/gears but not actually the "turning the wheel" marks so after this video I tried to put it in practice, picked Imola which is a track I like but where I always feel like I am struggling. I never managed below 1:44 and mostly doing 1:44.5. I watched a 1:41 hot lap, found landmarks for when to turn and after 4 laps, bang 1:43.5 then 1:43.2. Didn't have much time at hand but I think I can even manage to get into the 1:42!

  20. Браво за видеотата и сетъпа ти! Не бях попадал до сега на българин = ) Напред и нагоре!

  21. So strange that I've been racing for so long using turn in and apex reference points on corners I've struggled with, but it never occurred to me to use them on EVERY corner, even if I'm really confident in that corner, to improve even more. I've got a lot of homework to do!

  22. If my apex is on the right side of a corner do I look for a turning point on the right side of the road (towards the apex) or the left side (to start turning)?

  23. Truly appreciate what you bring to the sim racing community! Keep up the great work, we are all better because of you.

  24. Buonasera, scusa per il disturbo ma (virtual Race experience ) la stessa persona !?😅 comunque anche tu sei top

  25. Are you going to try the new vive pro 2 at launch? seems like it will be the king for VR sim racing. Im a g2 user and for and looking to upgrade not sure if I want to invest in triples or the new HTC, which have you preferred if you were not doing content creation? Loving the POV stuff as usual! 😀
