In this ukulele lesson, I will show you three beautiful ukulele chords played in the key of E minor.

This chord progression is quite special because I recorded a YouTube video teaching the same chord progression on guitar in 2018. This video turned out to be the most viewed video on my guitar channel, with over 2.5 million views.

This ukulele chord progression is lovely and sweet to play. However, some of these chords can be challenging to play for first-time ukulele players.

But please! Don’t give up just yet.

You will learn how to get to this chord progression step-by-step! Please, keep watching and give it a try!

Good luck.

  1. I can’t believe how beautiful this is! I can’t help but be moved in so many ways. I’m gonna learn this and play it for that special someone out there ☺️

  2. Absolutely inspiring lessons! Thank you for your beautiful melodies and easy to follow techniques that build upon each other. Love it Marco! Your music keeps me wanting to pick up that ukulele and not put it down.

  3. This was the first song I heard on your guitar channel! Thank you Sir for your instructions and your assistance. You are helping bring another sound to the ukulele!

  4. Can you make more tutorial videos of more beginner friend chord progressions please?

  5. Hey Marco!! – for those of us who are just now learning how to play the ukulele, could we requested a guided practice video on the chords most popular and well loved – that would be amazing!! Start out with a simple strum pattern for each chord and transition to the next chord (I think I would do the circle of fifths so it's at least musical sounding and pleasing to the ear to play). While we could easily practice this way on our own here at home, (Classically trained pianist here so I know how to practice on my own but I will tell you…) playing your videos and trying to play along is so much more fun for me these days. It's not only nice to hear the little reminders, but it's super fun to just play along with someone else and try to keep up rather than playing all by myself (total flashbacks of having to sit at the piano for hours and practice monotonous Hanon Virtuoso Pianist exercises out of my beloved yellow Schirmer book). LOL! Admittedly, I really did actually enjoy playing through that book but it just about killed me before I conquered it. Don't tell my piano teacher I ever said that… Also… think about it, if you put together a video like that, it is likely to get played numerous times over by thousands who are trying to practice and learn all their chords just like I am. That's an awful lot of extra passive income from one video alone… 😉

  6. Hey marco! Man, I'm so glad I found your channel. I love the style you play in. Really suits what I'm trying to learn. And your tutorials are very well broken down and easy to follow. Even though. I'm very new to the uke. Been playing about 10 months. Im trying to step away from the standard riptide cover type of stuff. Though, they have their place. I prefere picking. Traditional hawian sounds and Spanish. Im currently learning your romantic uke chord progression video 1. I'm just getting the end of part 4 to an ok standard before I move onto part 5. Going to learn your Spanish one after. I really like that man.

OK. So here goes. I dont know if you do requests and I don't want to overstep but is there any chance you could learn "de ushuaia a la quiaca" by gustavo santaolalla and do a tutorial on it please? I'm not sure if you're familiar with it. But its such a beautiful tune and similar to your ukulele playing style. The original is played on the mandolin. Ive found one dude who plays it on the uke on youtube. I asked him if he could do a tutorial. He said he would have to relearn it. But he's never done it. Which is fine. We're all busy. I get that! But if you could in your usual easy to follow tutorials that would be amazing and I'd be forever in your debt! Ah aha ha ha ha!!! If not. Thats absolutely fine. But I've had to ask…
    Cheers
    Pete

  7. What is the 1st ukulele you were playing? I really liked the way it sounded with this piece much more then the second ukulele.

  8. The chord progression isn't easy for a beginner but I picked up coz of the minor chord melody! It touched my heart. ❤️

  9. What a beautiful progression, finally got it mastered and sounds great with some intermittent strums too, thanks loads for these tutorials .

  10. 👍 Meravigliosa armonia da suonare in finger picking con l'ukulele!! Grazie di cuore Marco!! 🙏💙🎼 ♥ Sei SEMPRE il MIGLIORE!! 😎✌🆒

  11. This is amazing! My problem is I try to learn one of your melodies and you come out with another beautiful post. I am like an attention deficit dog that sees a squirrel and shifts to start your new tutorial before learning the previous 😂.

  12. This sounds so beautiful. Would you like to teach us how to record a melody like this and how to create a backing track for it? I think this melody sounds so much better with the effects you put on top of it and with this backing track. It's kind of disappointing when I put so much effort to a melody and in the end it doesn't come near to that what you showed us…

  13. I was waiting ever since got your insta post. You give me reason to fight this horrible situation.god bless you take good care .lots of love to your baby
