  1. Not sure if Betfair reads this but something they have got horribly wrong is their system of Deductions, they try to encourage early betting but if you back anything and a favoured runner is scratched, if the bookies take a top deduction of say 20% betfair will take double and sometimes more, it is heavily in favour of layers,
The last bet I had, the bookie that had the highest deduction was 30 cents in the dollar, Betfair took 65 cents, more than double the highest deduction of all the bookies,
The horse was 6 points over the bookie odds when I placed the bet, it finished up under the bookie odds after deductions from both the Bookie and Betfair
I only bet with the intention of laying it back, I thought the price was wrong, the horses firmed and I was able to lay it back for a small profit but I was lucky, it wasn't worth the risk for the small profit

I now don't bet until the field is in the barriers….if I bet at all with Betfair…..which means backing AND laying is off the table
It's not your money so why so biased to one side of the transaction against the other??…..unless Betfair insiders do a lot of early laying, then it would make sense?
    But you've lost me

P.S. This was not the first time I have been caught in this trap, it's wasn't even the second…..but it was the last!
