Join me in my Hearts of Iron IV Let’s Play as the Soviet Union with the No Step Back DLC / expansion & the 1.11 Barbarossa patch. In this campaign we’ll be sticking with communism, going the Centre route on the focus tree with Stalin as our leader. This means that we’ll have to deal with the new paranoia mechanic, having to stop Stalin from purging all our generals and advisers lol. We’ll have Historical AI Focuses turned on, so the other countries of the world should follow the path of their historical counterparts. Our initial goal with be the defeat of Germany and Italy, we’ll have to see how things go regarding any future conflict with the Western democracies.
I discuss my reasoning and strategy as I play, thus this walkthrough could serve as a tutorial or guide.
