[Case Study] What would cause VIXY to skyrocket?

Let’s take a look into some periods where VIXY skyrocketed. One is the pandemic and the other is the 2008 credit market problems. The common thread: Panic.

Markets don’t usually bottom without some type of panic. That panic comes hand in hand with VIXY spiking, so I continue to trade it everyday. However, it is important to note that I hold VIXY only in portfolios where I’m looking to hedge risk.

I don’t think the market’s done going down, until we get the crescendo of VIXY skyrocketing.
