This is the same thing that happened to Kawhi Leonard a few years ago with the Spurs. They deliberately sent him to a team opposite of where he wanted to go. The Nets might do the same thing to K.D. now. No other team wants to dismantle their whole roster for a diva player that won't stay. His only option now is to go back to his hometown in D.C. and play for the Wizards. He has Bradley Beal and Porzingas which would be a great big three for him. K.D. is ruining his legacy by running around to different teams that aren't even championship contenders. With little to no options left the Wizards makes the most sense for him to go and redeem himself and his legacy.

What the Nets are doing is smart. They have KD under contract for 4 more years so they have the leverage. Either some team will be foolish enough to give them the insane trade return they're asking for, or the Nets just keep Durant and they remain contenders in the East. It's a win-win
