Great video Martin…. I have always wondered about the "nuts and bolts" of this one and I really like your explanation. It will be interesting to see next December's results. My suspicion is the variance could have been caused by the World Cup. Thoughts? I have removed a few leagues and was able to increase the ROI above 20% with around 100 less selections…. (more time with the wife and kids 🙂 )
I did a quick bit of analysis, and found if you removed Portugal, then total ROI shoots up close to 11
This would mean that a good o 1.5 strategy with backing should also work?
Just pumped this through TSM. Gave an Archie Score of 12.6 (meaning liklihood of chance 0%). What a terrific score!
Clearly a great strategy. I wonder whether any other criteria apart from the odds limit and removal of some leagues are actually necessary here.
