  1. You made it much further than I ever bothered.

I spent entirely too much time looking over the developer's history, trying – and failing – to understand how they survived for as long as they did.

Still, agreed on how lovely the graphics are, considering the platform. Just look at that draw distance! And those detailed textures! And the way those textures warble a little as they subdivide to avoid severe warping! Whoever made this engine should be proud of their work….hopefully, they never saw how it was used.

  2. I smack my wife on the ass daily. She smacks me too. Old Bond isn't outdated or questionable. You people just aren't having fun anymore. I can tell because you're playing THIS game. I know you have to, but just play Goldeneye and pretend it's a PS1 game. I'll let it slide.

  3. Breath of Fire III was my 1st real jrpg (if not counting Parasite Eve). And it might have the best plot and music in the whole series. 1st game is the worst for me and I played both snes and gba versions. I love 2nd game mostly because of Katt and a lot of different small choices in the game that affect many cutscenes and even endings (just don’t play the original USA release – better try japanese fan translation which is much better). I was firstly disappointed with the 5th game but it is roguelike – and after this I started loving roguelike games)

  4. Ouch, hated BoF 1 & 2? For shame! 😛 Hahaha. Seriously, I can understand having issues with those games. Early SNES RPGs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you do enjoy 3 and 4 when you get to them for the channel. And if you need any help with those, let me know.

I never had much of a connection to the Bond franchise. I saw a couple of the movies and I remember playing Golden Eye a few times with friends, but that’s about it. This seems like such an oddball game. Calling it a racing game with zero racing. And having limited ammo when you need very specific ammo to progress in the game. Some really strange choices. I don’t blame you for calling it where you did. Still a great video!

  5. RE: around 21:10 – that STINGER missile respawns after a short while. And doesn't it also appear only after all the cars are taken care of? Also RE: around 23:20 – see those two small boxes in the area? Lead them to hit those and it's an instant destroy. Thens, RE: 23:56 – what. And, RE: 25:00 – yep, a bogus cheat, that one. One either gets a high score to enter the cheat name or uses 2 player name entry, that works as well.
Finally, some original commenting, now. I have completed this here game with both difficulties (those cheat options only work with levels you've completed legit) and also unlocked all those cheat options, but only in the NTSC/U version, though I have the English PAL version also completed. (Both on real hardware, so I'm that hardcore.) Plus, surprised you didn't complain about having to cycle through every weapon if you go over the one you want, but holding R2 allows you to scroll those backwards (the manual never tells you that, and I've read that too).

  6. Great video.. I've always been interested in playing these 007 ps1 games. I really liked this retrospective, definitely gonna subscribe! Cheers, keep up the good work!

  7. Really great video. Good luck with getting through every game. I feel tired just thinking about it!

  8. I have a similar relationship to the James Bond movies – TBS' 13 Days of 007 became something of a holiday tradition for me, so hearing you talk about it, especially at this time of year just got me.

But this game, though… Woof… You actually got farther than I did. I got to the second level, thought "Huh, this feels like a knockoff of the Die Hard with a Vengeance portion of Die Hard Trilogy, but bad", then wondered why I wasn't just playing Die Hard Trilogy instead.

I kinda want to see this pitted head-to-head with Batman: Gotham City Racer to see which is the worse game now. That sounds like an exercise in masochism, though…

  9. This is one of those 4 hour games that feels like 40 hours by the time you're done. The only way I can make it past the forklifts is luring them into those radiation crates.

"The game is having you do something the mechanics are not meant for" Completely agree. They have you doing things that are meant for a 1st or 3rd person shooter.

BTW, I got a notification for your comment on my 007 racing video but I think youtube didn't like it. It's being hidden from me and I can't read the whole thing or reply 🙁 But thank you for taking the time to engage and give me a boost.

  10. Bro, I love the narration! Golden EYE was it then! lol "Your mother was a hamster" lol I love how you do your homework on the games and movies! Love it!

  11. Hey this content is great love you're channel, you really do go in depth in you're reviews will take a look at what else you have here when i have more time subbed.

  12. Great vid, really enjoyed that. I think I had exactly the same experience. I remember it being fairly horrific at the time, but wondered if it was just me. Kind of relieved it wasn't lol, but such a massive waste of potential 😀

  13. I somewhat remember this game but not by much. Mostly that the controls could've been better.
I also would love an actual James Bond kart game. Of course one that is done right.

Btw, I have a question for you: Will you also review PS1 homebrew/Net Yaroze games?
