  1. I was excited for this collection to come out on steam, but it really is just arcade perfect ports of all the Ray games with no bonus features. I guess I shouldn't complain considering that at least the games work unlike other modern day collections, but I'm interested in knowing the development history, and seeing concept art for all 3 games.

  2. Raystorm screen size looks too small. Is there an option to fill top and bottom while retaining the aspect ratio, ie, still has side bars? I remember ps3 raystorm HD lets you fills to the top and bottom. It's easier on the eyes.

  3. Yup, mine just turned up from Play Asia yesterday, on night shifts this week and only had chance to play for an hour or so, but get my days off as of tomorrow morning and looking forward to putting some quality time in.

  4. I really really hope this gets an NA release or even an eShop release! I must play this collection on my Switch.

  5. anyway in normal mode it fills the game window from top to bottom keeping aspect ratio? also in vert mode does it fill the screen keeping its aspect ratio? as if not then im proper not happy

  6. The problem with the switch version: it's full of slowdown and occasional stuttering, and if you are like me playing this games since ps1 versions you'll find unbearable. Nobody in the online reviews seems to notice that and it's a shame. Especially Raystorm in this collection is really bad since is loosing frames constantly. Also the 'NEO HD' version is very bad in comparison to the remastered ps3, xbox360 versions. Really delusional. I'll sell it on the e.bay since i got pysical copy of this thing .

  7. It still has to be noted that the game still can crash when you use R Gray 2 on RayStorm. At the moment of this comment being posted, M2 is still investigating the issue. This is the first time I see any crash on an M2 port 🙁 Otherwise it's a stellar port.

  8. i think i like the pixelated look more than the cleaner look… old school games can sometimes be ugly but the ugliness becomes part of the charm i guess

  9. for a few years i've wanted some of these games especially ray crisis.. so maybe i can get this if its not too limited

  10. Glad its great, M2 are the gold standard. Made me chuckle a bit seeing your title, 'Its Here!' Well for me it isn't, and not sure when it will be as I preordered it from Strictly limited games! 😉

  11. Yesssss! Same here. Was already a huge fan of these games. Once I heard M2 was behind the ports, this was an instant pre-order for me. Should have my copy in another week or two, along with some other goodies which were waiting to ship out. 🙂

Not sure if Play-Asia does the affiliate link thing, but you should drop some affiliate links with some of these new release videos if possible, or maybe look into getting a channel promo code through them.

  12. These are my favorite shoot em ups, I remember bringing both layer section and radiant silver gun back from japan in 2008 and despite both being great games I found i prefered layer section despite it being a fraction of the price of RS…. not all great Saturn games have to be expensive

  13. cool cool, but I'm not a fan of the lock-on mechanic, it's just an additional thing I have to focus on, I'd rather not

  14. After your video I bought the digital version on the Japanese PSN. It’s listed as レイズ アーケード クロノロジー for 7,480 yen (around $55 USD) so buying a basic physical copy from Limited Run or Play-Asia is currently cheaper if you get free shipping.

At the rate I paid for my PSN card in yen today from Play-Asia, my digital game cost was more like $61.57 so the physical is a much better deal for anyone that doesn’t need instant gratification.

  15. this one's definitely on my radar looking forward to its US release! the lack of extra content does kinda suck, but truth be told it's not something I'd miss that much especially in the case of these I'm not super familiar with most of them. I did buy raycrisis on original PS for my cousin back in the 2000s when it was out, seemed like a pretty fun shmup so would be cool to revisit it in this collection.

  16. PS4 and Switch continue to be two of the best shmup consoles of all time. I bought this for PS4 as well as Akai Katana and Toaplan Hishou Same Same Same for Switch. Hopefully PlayAsia ships this tomorrow to me!

Great time for shooter fans! Looking forward to DoDonPachi DOJ and the next Toaplan collection from M2.

  17. ¥7,500 bit steep. I got burned buying the Japanese versions of Darius Cozmic Collection and
G-Darius HD that were half off within a few mths. I'll wait, got too many priority M2 games to buy this yr!

Get the Castlevania DLC for Dead Cells. Best DLC in a long time.

  18. Love seeing the gameplay of this Collection for the Nintendo Switch here mate! The design of that Darius T-shirt looks so amazing here Jim & I'll be sure to buy this over at amazon Japan for the switch!
