If you haven’t already completed the main objectives in Seaside Kingdom, you can check out our introductory walkthrough at It doesn’t show you how to get the Regular Cup shortcut, as we hadn’t made it over to the Roving Koopa on our first trip to the Kingdom, but it does show you how to get make it through the main objective and pick up the Power Moons you need to move on to the next Kingdom. You can also check out our boss walkthrough at to see how to beat the octopus boss.

You’ll find the Roving Koopa on the shallow islands to the east of the lighthouse and as soon as the race starts you’ll find yourself underwater with the rest of the Koopas. Instead of swimming up to the surface as Mario, you can move faster by capturing the nearest Cheep Cheep with Cappy and using it to make better progress. Then you can use a combination of the speed flowers and the squirters to make it to the shoreline. If you use the squirter to get a little height by the finish line you can transfer to one of the forks to spring up to take the win.

This will give you the Seaside Kingdom Regular Cup Moon.
