Los Angeles police identified a gunman Sunday suspected of holding hostages inside a Silver Lake Trader Joe’s that resulted in the death of a woman.
He was identified as 28-year-old Gene Evin Atkins, who was booked on suspicion of murder. His bail was set at $2 million.

So… Police can just shoot into a store full of people if they're being fired at by someone they're pursuing? Makes ZERO sense. So if someone throws a rock at me, and I throw one back and hit a baby in the head by accident and it dies, I'm not at fault? As an officer, can I fire into a car with children in it if the driver is shooting at me? And if it kills a child, it's justified? Let's say I have a concealed carry and I'm in A Trader Joe's and a guy that looks like a police officer comes in and starts shooting in my direction, I return fire and kill him, then I find out he was in fact, a police officer pursuing a perp. Am I going to jail? This makes no fucking sense! Fuck that guy that pulled the trigger!! My heart goes out to the family. If I was the father or brother, the police officer that pulled the trigger would be in clear and present danger. If I was a business owner in the town that officer is from, I'd tell him to get the fuck out. As that officer, you can at least try to help the family cover funeral expenses and maybe start a fund or something in her name. I don't know if he did anything like that, but if he didn't, he's worse than the guy he was pursuing. Complete piece of shit scumbag loser. Fuck you.
