  1. Love this podcast first comment and unfortunately negative. Why on earth should punters go in to bat for racing the way they get treated? I do love the sport but last year had my first winning year in about 30 which is fine as I consider racing and betting my main hobby and passion. People waste more money than me and get a lot less enjoyment back. However despite winning only 3 figures on the year 2 of my accounts were restricted to the point where having a bet is pointless. This is common practice and nothing the media ever talks about. Some bookies have introduced affordability checks despite not having to and often at the point of withdrawing money rather than depositing. Racing has aligned itself with these practices as they did with fobts. Unless you are a steady and consistent loser you are not welcome. Punters have always been bottom of the pile and treated with contempt by the racing establishment, bookmakers and media (with a few exceptions). But now it looks like people may be prevented from losing as much (because ypu’re not allowed to win) and the levy will fall, there is a big campaign and punters are supposed to support the entities which treat them with so much contempt. Rank hypocrisy!

  2. Just because they haven't heard of the likes of Josie Gibson or Danielle Harold doesn't mean they're not well-known. If they were walking down the street, I'd confidently say that they'd be far more recognised by the general public than Frankie would.

  3. Call me cynical, but I reckon the main reason why they're struggling to get 100,000 signatures is that, up until now, the media, bookies and racing's rulers haven't given a stuff about punters but now they see their revenue streams could be hugely affected they've suddenly had this new-found concern for us. I remember, a few years back, Ruby Walsh dismissively saying that racing would continue if there weren't any punters, let's see if that might be the case now? We saw during Covid how prize money levels in the UK were affected when the levy take was down.

  4. I watched thousands of races from the past at no point on a sunny day are jumps taken out. At no point does the commentary contain the word "keen." it seems today that's the only word available to the commentator, and horses can catch sun blindness easy.

Racing is bleeding slowly. it's breaking my heart. 10 years from now, the French horses will jump more practice fences than we jump normal jumps.

Celebs, wow, define celebrity the other day. i watched an old celebrity mastermind which had the gardener of presilla scales from Fault Towers

  5. I am sick of the low sun and taking out hurdles and fences. Puts me off betting races. The whole dynamics of the race change when they omit obstacles. Some races turn into a flat race for the last 5 or 6 furlongs.

  6. Emmet Mullins is sending over Slate Lane on a mark of 113 for the Betfair Handicap Hurdle. Stays forever. The mud wont bother him. Backed him 12/1 and 8/1. Been cut today best price 5/1. Bet365 going only 10/3 bookies getting scared of Emmet Mullins.

  7. remember barry orr saying he didnt think dettori was that nice behind cameras and his BB performance would back that up…i think this show will find him out…..cant see him in the frame

  8. Something needs to be done about all the fences being taken out of races . Idk what can be done but its ruining the races .
I had afew bets that might of won if they had jumped the fences
