Those Capcom conversions were really good for back then imo. Muscle Bomber/Slammasters and Magic Sword were some of the best
Nice selection this week.
I noticed some of the animation in sailor moon looks suspiciously like streets of rage.
And that skeleton with the shield in magic sword is straight ripped from Castlevania…or maybe it was the other way around…
Hello,
Actually Thunder spirits is a conversion of Thunder Force AC, the arcade game based on Thunder Force 3 but with some difference thought. So it is not a direct port of Thunder Force 3 from the Megadrive.
I played Magic Sword for the first time at a Church roller skating event and I fell in love with it. It was great getting to rent it and play it without the quarters. As a kid… this was a rental for me because we didn’t get to own many games so we reserved those slots for RPGs and franchise hits like Metroid, Zelda and Mario games when it came to SNES. I looked up what a copy goes for now CIB and I think I missed that window. Saturday Night Slam Masters is about at the tippy top of what I like to spend on CIB SNeS games that aren’t beloved games which I already have gathered at this point. Might have to piece these together if I can find loose boxes.
Love your shirt Jim. Great game.
No way! Saturday Night slam masters is a great game I wanted to buy it ebay was too pricey for me so I bought Muscle Bomber instead 😆
Very cool Famicom games Jim. I'm glad Japan is and will always be into physical games and media 🆒👍
Cool T-shirt
Gunlock is Guile’s Cousin.
The Parodius games are definitely high on my list to own. I'd like to own all the Great Battle games and spinoffs too. Oh and I believe there is a Japan exclusive Caravan shoot em up that I can't remember the name of. Great selections per usual Jim!
the 3 games I play the most from my Super Famicom collection are…..
Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie
Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss
Parodius
I am bad at shooters, so I appreciate it when people mention "easy" ones
I always did love Japanese style Nintendo art boxes for there cartridge title Jim. They look so cool. 8^)
Anthony..
Out of these i only own Muscle Bomber…Jikkkyo Oshaberi Parodius..well i own the SS remaster but i must admit the SFC version is more different than i thought at first
I own Go Ackman 2, Osabery Parodius and Magic Sword. On the top of my wish list is Magical Pop’n
Garlic jr.
Great snes pick ups and very cool video! ☕️
The First Sailor moon on SNES is also multiplayer, we played it a lot in co-op back in the days 🙂
A scholar and gentleman
Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius is definitely my SFC holy grail, just have to have the funds to find a copy! definitely more affordable compared to the PS1/Saturn versions, for sure!! some great games but that's hands down the star for me here.
Correction, first SFC Sailor Moon is 2 player, it's the Mega Drive one that is single player only. The other Salamander ship is the Lord British. 😆
Sailor Moon is such a classic.
Great timing. Been collecting Super Famicom games for the past 2 months. Thanks, Jim 😊😊😊
Thunder Spirits is pretty easy to 1CC, good for beginners
Love the go go ackman games.
Is that Parodius game the one that wasn't on arcades? Or is it the second one?
Why don’t you include some original game sound ?
Haggar is modeled after Don Fye and Dan Severn. And Freddie Mercury.
セーラームーンのゲームシリーズは沢山発売されて人気が有ります、パロディウスシリーズは私はアーケード版からX68kのPCでも遊んでました👍✨
I remember learning about the Sailor Moon games on a 1996 magazine (a Shoshinkai show report if I remember correctly) and getting excited, hoping to see them being sold in America (I was like 14 years old)… of course, that didn’t happen, and I was only able to play them years later thanks to the wizardry of emulation.
Thanks for your great videos, the best Japanese game store tours on YouTube, in my opinion. Best wishes.
Love Super Famicom games here from Japan that has better artwork than most of the US releases in the past.
