The 2022 Genesis GV70 2.5T Is A Superior Bargain Priced Luxury SUV

The #GenesisGV70 was a much needed new luxury SUV for Hyundai’s luxury division. Last year, we tested the fully loaded #Genesis #GV70 Sport Prestige with the twin-turbo V6 engine. This week, the #GV70Advance with the base 2.5L turbo engine making 300 HP serves as a more affordable entry into Genesis’s entry-level SUV lineup. It packs a ton of tech, features, and luxury into a very affordable package.

  1. Genesis proves you don't need to spend extra money on the larger 3.5L twin-turbo V6. The base 2.5T engine will still sprint to 60 in under 6 seconds and by choosing the smaller engine, you'll be able to pocket $12,000 in your wallet because it starts at just over $41,000. Would you guys go for the V6 or just stick with the turbo 4-cylinder?

  2. Is not a Honda or a Toyota engine/transmission Sooo the question remains will it be reliable? Will it burn oil at 10K? Will it leak oil at 15k? Only time and 45k investor will tell!

  3. Is genesis a part of the Hyundai engine fire recall? Definitely looks good and feels like it's great value for the money, but reliability is a big question.

  4. This is going to sound funny but I really don't like the genesis wing symbol all over the vehicle… it looks wayyy too much like Chryslers (ie ghetto). If they did away with their symbol I would buy it in a heartbeat

  5. For a luxury, the V6 would be nice but I want the base style steering wheel and the almost saddle brown interior.
Oddly you have to have the V6 to get 2nd row headed and cooled seats, mind you you can get that in the Kia Telluride.

  6. The ~44K base AWD model is an absolute steal if you can find one, however, the problem is availability. It seems that none of the dealers has the base model.

  7. "This model is $12-15K less than the V-6." You've convinced me. Plenty of power, all the right features. It check all the boxes for me as well. Grand Review, as usual! Thanks!

  8. Thanks for a great review. I also prefer the more subdued look of the 2.5l vs the 3.5l (wheels, exhaust, etc). Agreed, for roughly $50k it’s a tremendous value👍

  9. I make enough money to probably afford a base BMW 2 series or X1 and I’ve been wanting something a bit nicer for the same money. This car at $41k for the base MSRP may seem like a good alternative

  10. Redline Reviews, How do you compare this to the RDX ASPEC Advance? They are similar cost loaded out. Which one puts a smile on your face more? Which one do you think you'd rather be in after 100K miles?

  11. For this price there is a new MDX and it is bigger and better. This is good but MDX offers better choices now.
