  1. Thanks for watching, everyone! I tried a slightly different format from previous episodes of more games, what did you think? Your feedback is always welcome.

  2. I’m looking forward to Drainus when it comes out (top/down shooter)! It’s worth hunting down Deedrit in Wonder Labyrinth too if you’re a Symphony of the Night fan. Both are by the same developer, Team Ladybug.

  3. Don´t own a Switch but i got Huntdown from Steam, so i have it on my computer. I even bought the soundtrack because i love it. I can recommend Guns, Gore and Cannoli 1-2. Thats more of the gangster vibe of the old days but plays similar.

  4. Sick selection of games Jim!! I definitely wanna try Ganryu 2 and Akai Katana Shin based on your recommendation, and so glad i recently grabbed Windjammers 2. Btw, i LOVE that you used the old ECW purple static transition!!! 🤘🤘

  5. Good selections Jim, I'll have to get some of them myself. Speaking of sequels to Neo Geo games, Magician Lord really needs one. As for what I'm looking forward to, mainly Octopath II.

  6. Man, I keep forgetting about Wild Guns Reloaded. I'll have to pick that up sometime. Something about that game, I never seem to buy it, even though it looks awesome.

Not sure if you already have this, but you may enjoy Cogen Sword of Rewind. I only have maybe an hour in it, but it's good.

  7. Usually I like my physical games in 3D and my digital games retro styled, but if the price is right I'm willing to compromise. A switch game I'm looking forward to is 'Mato Anomalies' because I've noticed that Nintendo first party games and games based on popular anime get better treatment and mechanics, so this game would be a fair replacement for the Persona 5 Royal missing in my collection. The Bizzaro approach to game collecting is effective when building a premium collection because the classic first party games can be acquired second hand for cheap during the next generation of the console.

  8. I will say I loved windjammers 2 ever since the steam beta, so snapped it up over on switch soon as it dropped! definitely fun for a few short rounds of back-and-forth! river city girls 2 I have to get, but the wife and i, we just picked up the first one and working our way through it! so soon as we can finish it it'll be my next pickup for sure. Didn't know Japan got the combo pack, may have to look for that one online!

some of those retro sequels I still have to pick up, might try to find wild guns reloaded at some point! as well as akai katana I'm always down for a fun shootemup. (my all time favorite on switch has to be raiden 4 x mikado remix, and they have a version for raiden 3 coming out this summer) so if I can find it for a good price I'll probably pull the trigger on it.

PS. sign me up for a Mad Panic Gaming flamethrower (the kids love that one, I imagine?) 😛

  9. Holy crap Jim, great video. Some of these are among my favorite games of the last few years. Wild Guns ReLoaded was the first of the essential Tengo Project Natsume trilogy and a direct replacement of the SFC/SNES original. Wind Jammers 2 adds enough to feel like a fine sequel to the arcade original. Its super addictive like I remember the Neo Geo coin-op being. Akai Katana is one of my all-time favorite Shootemups full stop. I played River City Girls and loved it. I will soon pick up the sequel. I played Huntdown digitally when it released in 2020. If it wasn't for Streets Of Rage 4, it would have been my game of the year. I love everything about it. I'm looking forward to your individual reviews on some of these.

  10. Solid list of games you got there, Huntdown is such a great game and flew under the radar of a lot of people.
I was a bit disappointed with RCG2 the game doesn't feels like a proper sequel and feels very sluggish with controls compared to RCG.

  11. Good stuff Jim! These games are right up my alley and Huntdown was probably my favorite game of 2021. River City Girls 1&2 I picked up while visiting Japan november/december, got lucky with its release date and I got it right at launch day.

  12. I too hunted down a copy of huntdown 笑 though for ps4 after seeing it on that gamesack video. And am currently playing througj the kunio kun collection on ps4 so will look at getting that river city girls game too. Cool t shirts btw, from a fellow long time foreign resident here in Kansai.

  13. Jim i don’t know if you played that game but i highly recommend Cyber Shadow but its only available digital either on psn or eshop . If you like mega man and ninja gaiden . You’ll dig it . Also the soundtrack is awesome . Great video and take care Jim.

  14. Wow Jim these switch games looks so bloody awesome here even the first switch game which reminds me so much of those old Contra & Metal Slug shooters back in the good old 1990's arcade days here! I'll have to pick this up at my local game shop here in London because I am a big & huge fan of shooters arcade games here so hope to find this one this week!

  15. Great games! I did beta testing on Huntdown, and when it released, my sister and I played the heck out of it and beat it in a night; Robocop x The Warriors…a match made in heaven! Wild Guns is just as awesome as it was/is on SNES, and I cracked open Windjammers 2 with my sister last weekend and it was laugh-out-loud fun (although, she got chapped anytime she lost, lol).
I haven' t played River City Girls 2 yet, but now that my sis and I beat Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT:SR, we need another beat 'em up to tackle. I didn't know Akai Katana Shin was released on switch, so I'll have to grab a copy of that, and this Ganryu 2 looks slick (I've never played the original on MVS, but I'm sure it won't ruin the story to have skipped it).

Thanks for a sweet roster of games, Jim! Some new stuff for me to check out in that lineup 🙂
