TP-LINK EAP660 HD (AX3600 HD) WIFI 6 Wireless 2.5G Access Point

How to set them up!
—————————————————
Bob Pellerin (CTOBOB) unboxes a TP-Link EAP660. This access point is smart, has a strong signal and range! Improved density (more clients) and overall speed, this Access Point (AP) may be for you! It is a WiFi6 or 802.11AX access point designed for larger business environments (or large homes). These can be deployed easily. Having multiple access points brings benefits including better coverage, density, and mesh networking. It features a 2.5G port and can be powered by PoE+ injectors or switches.

Features:
►Ultra-Fast Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: Designed with the latest wireless Wi-Fi 6 technology featuring 1024QAM and Long OFDM Symbol, the EAP660 HD boosts dual-band Wi-Fi speeds up to 3550 Mbps. With 8 Spatial streams, multi-user throughput is incredibly increased to drive more applications.
►High-Density Connectivity: OFDMA and Uplink & Downlink MU-MIMO increase network capacity by up to 4× versus Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) in high-density environments to connect more devices simultaneously.
►2.5GE Port with PoE+ for Easy Installation: Armed with a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, the EAP660 HD delivers exceptional multi-gigabit performance and boosts total internet throughput for better Wi-Fi.
►Support Standard 802.3at PoE+ for flexible deployment and convenient installation.
►Integrated into Omada SDN: Omada SDN integrates network devices including APs, switches & gateways with multiple control options provided – Hardware controller, Software Controller & Cloud-based Controller. Standalone Mode also applies.
►Cloud-Based Controller: Zero-Touch provisioning (coming soon) allows remote deployment and configuration of multi-site networks. AI-Driven Technology (coming soon) delivers stronger performance and easy network maintenance. Additional fees apply for use of cloud-based controllers.
►Cloud Access: Remote Cloud access and the Omada app bring centralized cloud management of the whole network from different sites—all controlled from a single interface anywhere, anytime.

PoE, PoE+, and PoE++ switches will be reviewed as we get our hands on some for those of you asking when we’ll do some.

  1. @ 3:27 Mine has a 2.5 gigabit port not the 2.5 megabit like this one. By the way using this ethernet poe injector @ 7:50 will slow down the 2.5 gigabit speed ethernet port down to 1 gigabit speed.

  2. I have multigig fiber. I am switching out all of my old network gear. Getting a 10gig router to connect to the ONT, then a 8 port 2.5gig switch with two 10gig ports as well to hand the full speed to that switch, then from there to a 16 port 1gig switch with 2 multigig, up to 10, to continue the full speed. No bottle neck down to any one device. Just the device its self. 2 of these, might need a 3rd, and a controller.

  3. You forgot a very important part. If you are getting these and using more then one, you need a controller in the network. Whether their dedicated controller, software on a server or PC, or some enterprise routers that you can run the software controller on. I don't want people to go buy 3 of these thinking it will just mesh instantly and work perfectly. The controller is needed for smarter handoff to a better AP signal.

  4. I have two eap 660hd and I connected One to may ISP ROUTER is ok. And now I want to connect NEXT 660hd in other room/ for better singal/. Must I connect it with wire to ISP router ? or CAN i Connect wirelessly one eap660hd /one room/ to other eap 660hd /two room/ ?

  5. I bought one of these and turned off the wifi on my ISP provided all in one device they gave me. Signal has improved drastically throughout the whole house. Just outside of the front id get 15Mbps down/up and now with the tp link im getting in the 100s. Using an older aruba hp 8 port switch with poe + for power. Speeds improved on my wifi devices that are 802.11ac too. And my one device that is wifi 6. I've gotten 665 down/up give or take. Im using it as a standalone device. I want to get another to put in my shop which I have connected with a point to point antenna. I think ill install the omada controller after I get a second device. Long comment, I know. Nice video.

  6. Just got my AX3600 today. Setting it up. I'll let you know how it goes. Replacing an old AP that my home builder installed that is a piece of junk and cost twice as much as the AX3600.

  7. Please I have a question,
When I check the diagnostics of my laptop (Lenovo), it tells me that "the motherboard is not found on this device". What does that mean?
