Holdup is Boras. He wants competition to raise the deal. Yankees still have the best deal, but having Heyman put out an article saying the deal wasn’t close, when no one else mentioned that (Heyman is a Boras puppet), is an attraction to get other teams in.
The Yankees shouldn’t bid against themselves. If they offered exactly what he offered Boras would still try and stir other teams into the mix, bc it’ll further raise the price. People are buying into bullshit too much
