Most established fighting methods will be good on the street if your instructor taught defense and not a D practitioner of Judo and Tae Kwan Do. The reverse is also true.
Wing Tsun is as good as the practitioner. If you're great at it and you are up against a fair practitioner one of the karates you have the advantage.
Skill and a good attitude will defeat a poorly trained bully.

We were led to believe that we would see a real world wing chun guy getting attacked in real time out on the street.
Even I saw multiple places and changes to attack that wing chung into grappling match.
He does one mistake and there are no room to make those fast attacks.
I have been in martial arts since 1996, on off relationship with it.
In no way, shape or form could I take that one down in these videos, but if even I can see couple of openings, what do you think a well trained person who have been training Hokutoryo Jujutsu can do?
That is fighting on your feet, close up, take down and finish the opponent with extreme prejudice.
If the opponent is 100% for fighting on their feet and 0% on the mat, he is toasted.

Every marital art is useful in a street setting one on one are against multiple attacker's and come out victorious, and every marital art is not useful in a street setting one on one are against multiple attacker's and the result is defeated.
