World Cup Betting & Betfair Trading: This Is How You Can Make Money

I gather many statistics all the time, and this idea is to find something different.

The World Cup in Qatar has proceeded as usual, and much of what I’ve seen at previous World Cups has been as expected.

But in the second match, we immediately saw a hint of something completely new.

In the tournament’s second match, we saw 29 minutes of added time.

This is highly unusual and presents some extra betting and Betfair trading opportunities that haven’t been seen in previous world cups.

  1. Injury time and extra time are two different things. I get your point and in the group stages extra time does not exist but it's wise to use the term injury time when applicable

  2. It would be interesting also to compare the goals against the percentage of match time played, rather than absolute minutes since kickoff and to compare it to previous tournaments to see if there really is a difference.According to a recent Mail Online article by Mark Clattenburg the actual "ball in play' time is still only slightly longer than a standard Premier League match. Another problem is the small sample size. It's probably too small to draw reliable conclusions. It won't be long before markets adjust time decay to allow for longer "injury" time.

  3. But you know that after group stage if score is like 00, 11 in last 10min players are not pushing to the limit. They hope for that et, and teamtalk. But for now who layed under in last 10min is in profit for sure. Game is so much open, and there is 0 tika taka, just push forward and score

  4. Thank you ,Peter! There is always so much value in your videos. Can I ask your advice on what would you consider to be the most appropriate strategy for a beginner that could help the mindset to adjust for the long term. I find it difficult to adopt the correct mindset and ending up making wrong decisons -i live or die with the last trade..
    Appreciate

  5. Fun fact.

At this point in the 2018 World Cup, there'd been 10 goals in second half added time, and 2 in first half added time.
So far in 2022, 7 in the second half, 1 in the first half.

  6. I was looking and there was only one 0-0 score in the whole 2018 tournament. That was a group match.
There was a few in the first few days this time. One might say it was due.

  7. Interesting and informative as always. Is there a quantifiable impact, do you think, of a world cup happening at a time of year as never before (winter for northern hemisphere, spring/summer for southern hemisphere) in a country that doesn't really play football on a national or international scale, where they are going from hot to less hot seasonally, and the major world domestic leagues are either part way through (Europe), some southern hemisphere leagues just started and northern Europe and North American leagues completed? Just read my question(s) – I know, it's too much to ask in one go!!

  8. I have a feeling they are reigning back the added time a little, it's definitely dropped in the last two or three days than the first 3-4 days. If this comes into English football we'll be seeing 35 minutes come up on the board in Wycombe games

  9. Thanks. Your lay the group favourite to qualify would have worked nicely on Germany and Argentina to trade after their 1st game losses. Shame I didn't listen!
