Yeti Has Panicked | UFO: Enemy Unknown Ep. 15

I’m convinced the game thinks I should have gone for Apocalypse instead. We shall try again, and we shall prevail.

— ABOUT —

1999. You are in control of XCom; charged by the world’s leaders to strike at the alien menace that’s terrorising the Earth. At first, you’ll scan, track, and shoot down the slower UFOs, but that will just be the beginning. Whenever a UFO crashes or lands, you must be there to lead a squad of armed soldiers from building to building, street to street, using all your tactical skills to capture or destroy the aliens. If you succeed in your first missions, your scientists and engineers will copy the alien technology toc reate more powerful weapons and craft for your forces to use. Gradually, you’ll build up a terrifying picture of this Unknown Enemy and their real aims and desires. Then, you’ll have to work out a strategy to stop them.

One thing is certain – it won’t be easy!

Features:

• Command deadly close-combat battles: shooting down UFOs is just the beginning! You must then lead a squad of heavily-armed soldiers across different terrains as they investigate the UFO crash site. Tackle the aliens with automatic rifles, rocket launchers, and even tanks in the struggle to retrieve useful technology, weapons or life forms.

• Research and manufacture alien technologies: successful ground assault missions will allow X-COM scientists to analyze alien items. Each new breakthrough brings you a little closer to understanding the technology and culture of the alien races. Once you have sufficient research data on the UFO’s superior weapons and crafts, you’ll be able to manufacture weapons of equal capability.

• Develop a strategy to save the Earth: you must make every crucial decision as you combat the powerful alien forces, but you’ll also need to watch the world political situation. Governments may be forced into secret pacts with the aliens and then begin to reduce X-COM funding.

  1. Your pain in this series has cheered me up Yeti, thank you for that. lol

Hopefully for you the reboot goes a bit more smoothly, that could be fun to watch too. If not, well I'm sure I'm not the only one that enjoys watching a good trainwreck.

  2. "Another ufo…" " And what do you see over… ahhh Another cyberdisk … Joy …" I almost felt on the floor laughing haha

  3. You are good at the game but, to be honest, i have seen a lot of common mistakes:like chargin out the skyranger without a tank protecting the soldiers,or non saving time units for opportunity fire. You need to be patient and avoid rushing since a ufo recovery can take all the turns you want(you should also save at the start of combat).Near the 6:00 minute you lost a soldier which could be saved simply firing at the alien. For terror site use accurate weapons and NO highpower explosive.hope it help

  4. About selecting the location for the first base:

In Europe it costs $1M to construct a new base. North America is $800K, if memory serves me correct. Sooo… Europe first saves $200K (I presume your first two bases will be in Europe and North America, which is rather standard – unless you want to play a non-standard strategy…).

And inside Europe I would go for Eastern Europe. Around Poland or Turkey are good locations; covering Europe, Russia and the Middle East (having large radar coverage)

  5. I'm sorry you have to start over. It was an interesting experience viewing your playthrough up until this point.

I hope you still will do UFO:EU and not Apocalypse, as I like the former better.

One small change I'll recommend is that you use the Defensive Starting Base Layout in the XComUtil. It is only logical that one should construct the base with defense in mind. That's not cheating in my book as it only does what should've been done from the makers of the game in the first place.

  6. New run of this, but now that you've got some experience and get a lot better starting location i want to see genius instead of veteran :D. It isn't too much harder (i think) and think you probly can pull it off + i want to see you suffer Yeti lol. Also if there is naming pick Rookie Separi aboard too,

  7. Again please! 🙂 Not saying i wouldent watch you play apocolypse , but this game is the holy grail of Xcom games. Please give it another whirl

  8. I was actually hoping you would do a Apoc playthrough. also would like to see a reboot. cant thumbs up twice though

  9. I always put my first base in Europe, usually in or near the Alps, tough break getting no missions, look forward to the reboot, i do enjoy the Yeti X-coms….

  10. This is a veteran difficulty? Holy cow. Also, pretty sure you had rotten luck. I had better success getting missions on Hawaii…

  11. That's strange – I've always considered UFO:EU an easier game than TFTD… But yeah, sectoids leaders are painful… Hate these grey little buggers :/

  12. build first base oaround europe/africa and rusian border
    a 2nd base in america
NEVER run a soldier around the same corner or path where another one died and reservtime units and do like the aliens: shoot and then run back around a corner

  13. Start in Europe, around the Alps/Germany all the nations there in there entirety provide more money then the U.S, also easier to keep them happy, Well unless you die a lot.
